Maths As you know, we follow the Power Maths Scheme in School. This week we will be making our way through the following units of work: Year 5 – Unit 8 – Fractions (1) Please ‘hand in’ via the Redwood email - pages 62/63 (lesson 2) Year 6 – Unit 10 – Measures - Imperial and metric Please ‘hand in’ via the Redwood email - pg 146/147 (lesson 3) Each day in class we explore some content together as a whole class. Please could you work through the 4 textbook pages set for each day? The 4 textbook pages cover 3 different parts - discover, share and think together. We use discover as a question and thinking time then we work through share together to understand how to solve a problem. Think together is an example of the kinds of questions your child will see in their pupil practice book, which gives children the opportunity to practice the skills learnt and developed through that lesson. The challenge section is a way to check understanding and apply knowledge. You could print out the pages or just ask your child to write the questions and answers out on paper. Once we return to school, you child will complete the pages in their pupil practice book to see if they can apply the learning contained within the textbook pages. Please keep a record of which pages your child has / has not covered. Year 5 – Unit 8. Textbook pages: Year 6 – Unit 10.
