NEW scheme, FREE to participating

schools and youth groups

Page 2: Rock UK Youth Ambassadors

The NEW Youth Ambassador scheme seeks to increase access to outdoor adventure and to enhance the impact and learning experience for all participants. At Rock UK we recognise that residential experiences may not always be possible, or last only a few days; therefore, thanks to funding from the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Trust, we have developed a cohort of young instructors who will come and work with a group of young people in their own environment at no extra charge to your school or youth group.

How it works By working in collaboration with teachers and youth leaders, we want to ensure that activities are embedded into the wider learning and development of your group.

Ideally running alongside a visit to one of our centres, our Youth Ambassadors will work to enhance your visit through pre- and post- visits. They can run activities in the grounds of your school or youth club in conjunction with a theme or topic already being explored.

Funding from the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Trust has enabled us to offer this scheme completely free of charge to all participating schools and youth groups

Rock UK Adventure Centres Ltd has been providing exciting outdoor adventure for 90 years through its 4 UK venues. At our adventure centres we offer fun and exciting residential activity trips with programmes designed to bring out the best in every young person. Enabling them to develop confidence and communication skills that can be transferred to the classroom and everyday life.

At Rock UK we want to equip every person with a passion and appreciation for their environment. All our instructors have a genuine passion for the outdoors and it’s more than just a job. They encourage high levels of resilience, confidence and independence when tackling challenging activities….We create memories for life.

In order to maximise the benefits of residential experiences, careful planning and preparation, including work undertaken with children and young people before and after the residential experience, is key to the relevance, coherence, breadth and depth of learning.
