Dear Robert Frost School Community, It is a great pleasure to have the opportunity to serve the community as the principal of Robert Frost Elementary. For the last 5 years I have been the principal at Upland Terrace Elementary, and I am very excited to move west and become a part of the West Valley Community. I have met so many wonderful people and I want to say thank you for making me feel so welcome. I am sure that Robert Frost Elementary is definitely at the place to be! We have many new faces in the building this year and we are so very excited to welcome them to Frost. New to the lower grades are Mrs. Schroeder and Mrs. Fisher in first grade and Ms. Robins and Mrs. O’Shea in third grade. Joining us in the upper grades are Ms. Butterfield in fifth grade and Mr. Williamson in sixth grade. We also have a new resource teacher, Ms. Gans, as well as two new teachers in our special education units, Ms. Cheesman and Ms. Jorgenson. Ms. Lopach comes to our school as the new school psychologist. In the library, Mrs. Eyre is our new media assistant. We are so excited to have an amazing faculty and staff this year at Frost! Thank you to all the parents and guardians who came to SEP conferences in support of their Robert Frost students. We had a wonderful turn out and it was a pleasure to meet so many new faces. Please help us to make sure that your students are to school on time each and every day. Having good attendance is a crucial part of your student’s success in school. I would like to send a big THANK YOU to Mandi Thayne and the rest of the PTA for all their help and support as we began another great year here at Frost. If you are not already a member of the Frost PTA I want to encourage you to join. Our PTA goes above and beyond to enhance your student’s educational experience. We need to do everything we can to support out Frost PTA! Our annual fundraiser event was held on September 17th. It was a beautiful day and all students and teachers participated. Popsicles were served and the kids had a blast! The fundraiser was very successful and while we raised money, school spirit was boosted. !The school raised just under $5k to support our students and programs through our amazing PTA. Our top money raisers were Stephany Martinez, Piper Grimstead, Gage Warner, Kaylie Ortiz, Navaeh Wilson, and Madison Druce. Over 150 students were able to participate in the ice cream party held on October 1st. Many classes earned the movie party and 2 classes, Mrs. Unsworth’s class and Mrs. Baldridge’s class earned a 3-hour field trip. Thanks to all who helped make the PTA fundraiser a success!

READ,  READ,  READ    Robert  Frost  Eagles!

The    Road  to  Success    is  paved  with  a  lot  of  READING  and  HARD  WORK!  Studies  show  that  students  who  read  at  least  20  minutes  a  day  are  more  successful  than  those  who  don’t.  Those  students  who  read  5  days  out  of  the  week  will  earn  1  Jcket  for  drawings  throughout  the  year.    Those  who  read  all  7  days  earn  2  Jckets.  Our  goal  for  this  year  is  the  same  as  last  year:    60,000  days.    We  can  do  it!!!    We  will  have  a  great  reward  for  our  efforts!

                       READERS  ARE  WINNERS!!!
