• Parents must volunteerfor ten hours per year, for each child that is enrolled.

• Not every hour must be in the classroom.

• Hours may be earned at home.

• Many School events needvolunteers.

Registering as a New Volunteer

• You must go to the front office and givethem an ID to sign up to volunteer.

• You will read through a packet and fill out the last page.

• Take the packet home

Logging Parent Volunteer HoursWebsite: www.v-volunteer.com

• Click “forgot password”

• Input your email address

• You will receive an email with a temporary password.

• Log into the v-volunteer website and change your password

• Log your volunteer hours that are before 9am and after 5pm or weekend activities. Log your “take home” projects too.

• When you sign is a volunteer in the front office your hours are automatically recorded for you. These hours will not show up on the v-volunteer website. *Contact Mrs. Carrington.

• Each 1st grade student must complete 10 hours of community service.

• Service must be in at least 3 different categories. Go to page 9.

• Help your neighbors, friends, and/or church members. Helping family members does not count.

• No more than two hours per service or donation.

•The school provides many opportunities to donate items for service hours. Usually once a month.

• Write down the hours in the front of your child’s agenda (p. 36).

Shirts: White, Navy, Green. Must be tucked in.

Pants: Khaki, classic Navy. Flat front, Pleated front, elastic waist. No cargo pants (pockets on sides.)

Belts: MUST be worn when belt loops are present. Navy blue, brown, black, white, khaki or uniform plaid (no designs).

Socks/Tights: must be worn at all times and must be a solid color found in the uniform. Leggings/Legwarmers are not permitted.

Shoes/Sneakers: Must have enclosed heel and toes and must be in good condition.

If laces are present they must be tied.

Boots are an option and should be worn under the pants (no tucking pants inside of the boot)

You may block your child from adding ice cream and cookies to their lunch. Write a note to the cafeteria.

School lunch: Lots of healthy options. Cookies, Water and Juice are an additional cost.

Have Lunch with your Child

• You do not need to notify us.

• Sign in at the office

• Come to the cafeteria at 11:09.

Birthdays

• You may bring Peanut Free Treats at lunch time.

• You may also buy cookies, frozen juice cups, or popcorn

from the cafeteria. Notify them one week before.

Afternoon Snack: 2:30 p.m.

Must be a healthy, energizing snack. Finger foods, ready to eat!

Apple slices, orange wedges,grapes, baby carrots, cucumbers,celery, granola bars, unfrosted Pop-tarts, dry cereal, popcorn, whole wheat crackers, go-gurt,squeeze apple-sauce, cheese stick,pretzels, dried fruit, etc.

No nuts, cookies, chips, unpeeled citrus fruits, or anything requiring silverware. No candy. No juice in the classroom. Water only.

Absences• If your child must be absent the day of school please call the school

to let the office know. Upon your student’s return, send a written excuse.

• If you know in advance that your child will be absent, please write a note

telling us in advance.

• Any make-up work will be sent home or finished in class if possible. Please

•make sure it is completed and return it to us as soon as possible.

• If your child has a fever of 100 degrees or higher, they need to stay home

until they are fever free for 24 hours.

Discipline

Students are expected to show respect to adults and one another at all times

Each child starts the day with No Color

For each infraction of the rules the student’scolored stick will be moved.

Green = Warning

Yellow = 4 Minute Time Out at Recess

Red = 8 Minute Time Out at Recess and a “Stop and Think” sheet will be sent home.
