Mrs. Amy Pygon• 18th year of teaching…my 16th in Ken-Ton
– Currently co-teaching 2nd grade math with Mrs. Moore, co-teaching 1st grade ELA & math with Mrs. Grosofsky and teaching Kindergarten Resource Room.
– Have taught k-3 special education students at Lindbergh, Hamilton, and Holmes Elementary since 2008.
– Co-Taught 7/8 grades at Franklin Middle from 2000-2008. – Earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Science in
Education from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. – Hold permanent NYS certification in both Special Education k-12 and
Elementary Education k-6.– I regularly check my school email: [email protected] and consider this
to be the easiest form of communication unless there is an emergency in which case you should call the office at 874-8410.

Monitor Progress Towards Goal
The baseline level is the highest level at which a student can demonstrate proficiency without teacher help. For each level, a color has been assigned.
Your child will be reading leveled books on his/her independent level.

• Your child will come home each night (starting soon!) with a book bag filled with leveled books on his/her independent reading level
• Read 2 steps at home (30 minutes…15 minutes equals 1 step) each night Monday-Sunday
