Mayor’s MessageHas it really been ten years? Thinking back to opening night on Saturday February 28, 2009, it does not feel like adecade has passed since the curtain was raised for the first time in the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts.The past ten years have flown by as we welcomed over a million patrons and guests, presented hundreds of incredible artists from places from around the world, and have been privileged to host thousands of rental events.
Every day since opening night, has felt like a celebration of the arts and our community. It is this sense of celebration that guided our programing choices for your 2019/2020 season. You will recognize familiar faces who have graced our stage during the past ten years and you will meet artists whose performance will resonate with you well beyond the next ten years.
From all of us here at the RHCPA, to you, our most valued patron, we invite you to spend a few moments reviewing the pages in this spectacular publication. It is our wish that you will find an artist, a performance, which will entice you to join us for that morning, afternoon or evening of celebration and engagement. As we look back on the past years, we are humbled by your commitment to the RHCPA and your passion for the arts. We have learned much from you which continues to be top of mind as we begin to look at the next ten years. To make future seasons better, to make them stronger. To continue the celebration.

Michael’s MessageThe excitement of the 10th anniversary of the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts continues into the 2019-2020 season!
As we look ahead to many more entertaining performances and filled seats in the future, I would like to thank you all for your continued support of our local theatre.
When I attended the sold-out 10th anniversary celebration in February 2019, I was struck by how much the theatre’s programs have grown. In addition to many sold-outperformances, we have also expanded to include features such as Jazz in the Plaza, ON!Stage and Suite Thursday Cabaret.
I am also very proud of the education series and how we are promoting theatre and the performing arts to the next generation through the ever-popular school breakprograms. This coming season is once again host to avariety of performances, including music, comedy, family and musical acts. There is something for everyone to enjoy, from rock to country music, speaker-series, musicalsincluding Junie B. Jones and the smash-hit showSing-a-Long Sound of Music and much more.

Babes in Arms: All patrons require a ticket regardless of age, due to fire code. Each family series performance has a limited number of complimentary tickets available to be used for infants under the age of 12 months. They will be issued by the Box O�ce at the time of purchase by phone or in person only on a first come, first serve basis. Should there be no remaining complimentary tickets then a regular theatre ticket must be purchased for the infant.
Accessibility: The Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts is a fully accessible building and is compliant with the Accessibility For Ontarians With Disabilities Act (AODA). The Theatre is also equipped with an infra-red sound amplification system. Please visit the box o�ce for access to the system headsets.
Smoking: The Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts is a smoke free facility and is in compliance with the Smoke Free Ontario legislation. This includes all legislation pertaining to e-cigarettes and tobacco products.
Scents: In consideration of patrons who may have allergies, please refrain from wearing cologne, perfume or other scented products.
Mobile Phones: Patrons are requested to turn o� all cellular devices when entering the auditorium. The taking of photographs and recording is strictly forbidden and will be enforced by theatre sta�.
Emergency Contact: Should you need to reach an audience member during a performance. Please call 905-787-8811, ext 246. This will connect you with the main bar and sta� will endeavour to assist where possible.
Coat Check: There is a seasonal coat check available at a cost of $2 per coat. It is located on the south side of the main lobby.
Food and Beverages: The main bar is located on the south side of the main lobby and o�ers a full range of beverages and snacks. All beverages purchased at the main bar are permitted in the main auditorium.
Lost and Found: Please call 905-787-8811 to access assistance in locating a lost item.
Late Comers: Patrons who arrive late will be permitted access to the auditorium at a suitable break in the performance, as agreed to by the presenter of the production. Patrons are not guaranteed access to their assigned seating and will be located to their assigned seating at intermission.
Dress Code: While there is no formal dress code for the theatre, patrons generally wear comfortable,“business casual” attire.
Parking: There are 240 parking spots in the lots behind the theatre. There is additional street parking on Yonge Street as well as surrounding areas. Please ensure you are in compliance with posted parking times.
Box O�ce: The box o�ce is located on the north side of the main lobby, just inside the main doors o� the parking lot. Please note all ticket sales are final and there are no refunds.
Tickets: Tickets picked up at the box o�ce require identification and signature. Lost tickets can be reprinted for a fee.The box o�ce is in full agreement with the principles outlined in the Data Protection Act and the Privacy Act.
