Cultivate metacognition• Don’t trust gut instincts, 1950’s psychology or what

you’ve always been told-it’s likely to be erroneous!

• Mine for strengths- don’t get stuck on weaknesses

• Unlearn and Pivot=Spiral UP during chaos-stay agile

• Retrain your brain (metacognition and plasticity)

• Rethink it-Chaos does not necessarily=disruption

• Good life versus ”goods life”

Cultivate global citizenry &intersectionality

• Spiral UP-unlearn insularity and groupthink

• Pivot towards dynamic “squads” and community

• Embrace each other and seek common ground across “different” social identity groups

• Relationships are protective factors

• Engage multiple perspectives

Get to the Good Life• Spiral RECAP- Wield metacognition to reframe, stay

agile, create new repertoire

• Everything is learning; learning is everything-experience is the best teacher and best done in safe community/relationships

• Focus on strengths; avoid deficit lens

• Remember: There is always “double dip” for us and those we serve!

• Sustainability relies on community, supervised skill practice, and advocacy for ongoing unlearning and social change
