WORKING EXPERIENCE:

Present position The BURSAR, UNIVERSITY OF BENINDuties –Presently, duties include:

Interpreting and implementing financial policies of Management in the College of Medical Sciences consisting of about 30 departments.

Ensure that all revenues due to the College are collected and accounted for. Ensure that all expenditures follow due processes.

Directing the Financial and Accounting activities of the College. Approving payments of expenditure of various departments, including payments for

contracts, preparation of expenditure reports to Management and to various units. Controlling of Expenditure through the Departmental Vote Expenditure Analysis.

Preparation of Departmental imprest. Processing of payment of taxes to State Government and other related financial

duties. Attendance to all meetings of the Principal Officers of the College. Represents the Bursar in all financial matters affecting the College.

1999-2003- Chief Accountant, Head Student’s Accounts Unit, University of Benin

Duties include: Collection of fees and charges of over 25000 full-time students of the

university. Communication with the sponsors of students on scholarship and

grants. Preparation of student’s cash book. Reconciliation of Accounts of the

fees collected. Correspondence with Foreign students and their sponsors on issues

relating to finances especially the fees and charges as approved by the University.

Initiated the computerization of student’s accounts and the system of payment of school fees into the banks.

1996-1999 Chief Accountant Budget, Capital Projects and Expenditure ControlDuties include:

Preparation of Estimate and Operating Budget for the University. Responsible for the correspondence with the National Universities

Commission, on matters relating to projects and budgets. Monitoring the budget and estimates of the University to ensure

proper adherence to the budget so as to avoid situations of deficit. A member of the Committee that defends the Universities budgets

before the Federal Body (National Universities Commission.) Approving payments of expenditure of various departments in the

University including payment for contracts. Preparation of expenditure reports to NUC and University

management. Preparation of monthly and quarterly statement of Expenditure

Also responsible for the administration of University Insurance. Preparation and submission of appropriate reports as regards the

above. Represents the Bursar in all meetings relating to Loans, Research

Grants and Insurance. Responsible for all the staff working under the three sub-units.

income realized by the establishment. Maintained the current records of investment. Prepare financial statements, Trial Balance, Balance Sheet as

well as Income and Expenses Statements that are drawn from the Company's general books of accounts.

1983-1984 Business Analyst: Isomex investment (Nig.) Ltd., Lagos. Conduct feasibility and cost studies, implement

corrective measures. Reconstructed accounting and financial data for the

establishment, developed inventory model. Assisted in the development of long-term plan for the

establishment.

1982 Youth Corps Accountant: University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Benin City.

Duties were as directed by the Director of Finance.

1980-1981 Accountant: Nutrition Inc. Washington DC, USA. Maintain Accounting controls. Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers. Completed substantial amount of work

covering variety of transactions which affect pay, leave, taxes. Reconciled Bank Statements, etc.

SPECIAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN UNIVERSITY OF BENIN

(1) I was instrumental to bringing the University of Benin Budget allocation from NUC ahead of University of Lagos, thus changing the tempo of subvention to the University of Benin. (1988/89)

(2) Made the recommendations for Budget year to coincide with Appt of Heads of Departments. (Accepted and implemented by Management (1994)

(3) Initiated the computerization of Students Accounts unit which yielded over 300% return within this first year. (2002)

(5) The first Accountant to obtain a PhD from University of Benin (1997)
