A short wrap-up: some milestones

May 14, 2015: Launch of Edulab 21 in Brazil:

Contract with Ghent University signed in November 2015

Official installation of the IAS chair @ Ghent University on March 2, 2016

In the meantime: recruiting staff:

Started working on two projects: MySKILLS and BENEFITS: collaborative effort

EDULAB21’s assessment portfolio: Lacks an instrument for formative assessment

Formative assessment: provide input for the learning process

Why do we need such instrument/tool?- Connect with teachers and students- Introduce a common vocabulary- Structure the domain of social-emotional skills/learning- Make social-emotional skill constructs operational and

tangible

MySKILLS: Developing an instrument for formative evaluation of socio-emotional skills

We are very happy with this partnership

- First chair @ Ghent by an international NGO- Provides a set of possibilities, both scientifically and

applied- Received very encouraging reactions so far- Will certainly contribute to the international exposure

of EDULAB21, IAS, and eduction in Brazil- We received already requests from Brazilian

researchers to spend a study visit/sabbatical in Ghent- Through EDULAB21 we are partnering with a wide

range of eduction stakeholders in Brazil

In closing …
