Thank You, Saint Agnes!
By Kyra Roberts, CPT
In case you missed it...the Saint Agnes Wellness Committee hosted a day filled with wellness, fitness, food, and fun for associates in the Alagia auditorium in early June. There
were visits from the Orioles bird and Ravens cheerleaders to help get everyone excited to participate in the fitness demos, as well as to mingle and get to know the many different services that we offer here at Saint Agnes for mind, body, and life wellness. Thank you to all of the departments and community-based groups that took time out of their busy schedules to help us run the show, as well as make donations for raffle baskets! We asked staff to take a few moments to make a wellness commitment for themselves, and as a follow up the committee hopes to plan activities in order to help everyone make these commitments achievable. Our goal is to continually make wellness a priority at
Saint Agnes. We had approximately 200 people sign up for the SAH walking club, which means that there are many potential exercise buddies out there for everyone! If interested in joining, please contact the Fitness Center. Again, thank you to everyone who supported the Well-
ness Day— it could not have been such a great success without everyone’s participation. Stay tuned to an-nouncements in the Pulse and on the flatscreens for upcoming wellness events and information. Be well and enjoy the summer!

Work smart, prevent injury and stay fit for life! Does your body hurt at the end of a busy work day? Stiff neck? Tight shoulders? Aching back? By using proper body mechanics, making some small adjustments to your environment along with some simple exercises you can keep from getting stiff, sore and tired and help prevent injury. The SAH Fitness Center is teaming up with Ergo-nomic Specialist, Amy Kramer, OTR/L, CEAS to offer a new class called “Give your Body a Break”. This class will uti-lize the Science of Ergonomics to teach you ways to maintain a healthy body for both work and home. You will be pro-vided with helpful tips on how to utilize proper body mechanics on the floor and at your work station, stretching exercis-es that you can incorporate into your daily activities, relaxation techniques that can be utilized throughout your day and general hints on how you can prevent injury. Please join us for this exciting new class on Thursday, September 10th from 12:30-1:00 in the Rehab Fitness Center Studio. All those who attend will receive a voucher for one free Fitness Center group class of your choice.
