Introduction

At the end of April it was cold and miserable; we were surprised at nature’s determination to get on

with it- the first cuckoo arrived on 29th April, some days later the swallows joined then, the cotton

grass on the moor became a luminous carpet of white and a family of squirrels scamper across the

lawn… and at last the sun!

In tune with our wildlife neighbours all is busy here preparing for our full summer schedule. A new

dining area and shop are being created, the café has a new lick of paint, paths are being mowed with

our newly acquired Ford Tractor (circa 1971), bracken subdued, weeds weeded, house cleaned and

all too welcome Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche and our friends, old and new, in June.

The shop has taken on a new lease of life. We want it to provide a service for all our students and

visitors as well as help raise funds for Gomde. If you have any Dharma books or articles that you

would like to donate to the shop please bring them along when you next visit.

Antonia Sumbundu came to Gomde UK to lead a Therapeutic Mindfulness course; the group was very

reflective and one student commented recently that the week end fundamentally changed her.

Thanks to Antonia for leading such a fulfilling retreat and Jenny who donated her time as chief cook!

Our Rangjung Yeshe on-line study group concludes with the final meeting this Saturday. It has been

really wonderful to study this classic text together with the support of Rangjung Yeshe Institute-

Mort, our on-line facilitator was always helpful and insightful. We hope to run another course

through RYI in the winter.
