This is the perfect addition to any Mix and Match collection! The Quilt Borders Bonus collection contains different designs that can be used as borders and transitional blocks with any of our Mix and Match Quiltcollections. There are 4 different widths of the borders and any design that is the same width can becombined together . There are plain borders as well as stippled and folded fabric borders. You can evencreate a quilt using only these designs.

The best part about this collection is that you can combine it with other Anita Goodesign collections! Thiscollection is part of the Mix and Match quilt line. All of the design collections that are in the Mix and Maline come with 5, 6, 7 and 8 blocks and are fully interchangeable. There are redwork collections, foldefabric collections, special editions, jelly roll collections plus many others. Visit our websitewww.anitagoodesignonline.com for additional information and videos.Steve Wilson

Notes on SizesEach of the block designs come in four sizes . The sample we embroidered used the large size. Each othe 4 sizes look wonderful. Of course, the larger sizes take longer to embroider. We created all of oursamples using the A size.

Designs with the letter Cat the endare the small designs for a hoop that canembroider at least 5.8 x 5.8

Designs with the letter Dat the endare the small designs for a hoop that can embroiderat least 4.8 x 4.8

Designs with the letter Aat the endare the large designs for a hoop that can embroider at least7.8 x 7.8

Designs with the letter Bat the endare the medium sized designs. You will need a hoopcapable of embroidering 6.8 x 6.8

To start, hoop a piece of No Show MeshStabilizer. Stitch step 1 of the design, this isthe squaring stitch. Everything that stitchesinside this block will be seen in the block, everything outside the squaring stitch will be

    sewn into the seam allowance.

Next, place your piece of batting over top ofthese stitches. Use tape to hold the batting inplace. Stitch step 2 of the design. This is atacking stitch for the batting. It is slightlyinside the squaring stitch so that it catches th

    batting.

Trim any excess batting away from the tackinstitches and out of the seam allowance.

Now we need to place our base fabric. Make

sure your base fabric is at least 1-1.5 largerthan your block. Lay the fabric down so that evenly covers the squaring stitch by at least for the seam allowance.

Mix and Match - Quilt Borders BonusUse this tutorial for the plain andstippled blocks.

Step 4 is the tack down stitch for your basefabric; this is a double stitch and will secure yfabric to the stabilizer.

If the block has a stipple background be sure match the thread to your fabric.

If the design you choose has stippling it will stafter the fabric tacking stitch.

The folded fabric blocks start the same way asthe main blocks. Repeat the first two steps totack your batting in place.

Step 3 is the placement stitch for your first pieceof fabric. This first piece is an applique.

Place your fabric over the placement stitchmaking sure you cover the line all the way

around. Your fabric will be right side facing upand should extend at least all the wayaround for the seam allowance.

The next step is the tacking stitch that will tackthe fabric in place.

Use this tutorial for the foldedfabric blocks

Once the folding stitch is complete, fold thefabric over so that it forms a tight seam againstthe folding stitch. Use tape to hold your fabric inplace. Stitch the next step of the design, this isthe tacking stitch. This stitch locks down thefolded fabric.

Trim along the edge after this step. Leave thetop and bottom fabric, these are your seam

    allowances.

Repeat these same steps for the remainingfolded fabrics pieces.

    Tips for great results

    1. Create your first block slowly to master the technique. Most people rush thefirst time and miss crucial steps.

    2. Tape, Tape and more Tape. Make sure you tape the edges of the fabric dowafter the fold. It is very important.

    3. Make sure you cut fabric pieces big enough to cover your areas and leaveenough fabric around the edges to sew into the seam allowance.

    4. Not every design is created exactly the same, make sure you review eachdesigns information page before you start embroidering.

    5. Visit our website www.anitagoodesignonline.com for more videos on quilting

techniques like stitching in a ditch and adding back fabric and binding.
