OUR CALL TO STEWARDSHIP February 10, 2019 - 5th Sunday in Ordinary Time “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?’ ‘Here I am,’ I said, ‘send me!’” (Isaiah 6:8) Every day, in little ways and in big ways, God asks, “Whom shall I send?” Whether it is someone to take on a new ministry, to give a friendly smile to a stranger or say a word of encouragement to a friend, God constantly provides opportunities to help someone in need. The next time you hear God calling, have the courage to walk through the door and say “Here I am, Lord.”

Dear Friends,
Today, the Church reminds us that, though we are utterly unworthy of the call of God, Christ makes us worthy Missionaries, if only we can say: “Here I am, Lord Send me.” The feeling of unworthiness was a sign of the humility for prophet Isaiah, Paul and Peter. They all acknowledged their unworthiness before God, and that they were not worthy to be His instrument. Their humility was a sign that they needed God’s grace in order to succeed. Of course, God knew this, because He is the one that calls and sancti-fies one for his mission.
Finally, all we need to do is: Be docile to the Holy Spirit because, he makes those available worthy and capable for God’s mission. Then, Christ will make us “fishers of men.”
