This year, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, is conducting "Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan" from 14th April 2016 (125 th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar) to 24th April 2016 (National Panchayati Raj Day), and under this people-oriented campaign, a series of programmes will be organised with active participation of State Department of Panchayati Raj and Panchayat representatives from across the country. An outline of "Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan" is enclosed herewith for ready reference. 2. As in previous years, a National event is being organized on 24th April 2016, and the venue will be Jamshedpur. Hon'ble Prime Minister will grace the occasion and address the gathering. 3. You are requested to depute a delegation of elected representatives consisting of all the three tiers of Panchayats (in the ratio of 1:2:3 for Zila Panchayat: Intermediate Panchayat: Gram Panchayat respectively) for the National Panchayati Raj Day in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. The delegation should include awardees under Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar and Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar, as well as representatives from SCs/STs and women. 4. To-and-fro travel arrangements have to be done by the participatingStates/UTs. Boarding & lodging arrangements will be provided by theGovernment of Jharkhand. Details regarding TAIDA etc. are being sentseparately. The concerned Nodal Officials from States/UTs may get in touch withShri AK.Tiwari, Consultant (Tel.: 011-23747935, e-mail: [email protected]@gmail.com) in this Ministry for coordination or any clarifications inthe matter. The soft-copy of the list! number of delegates from your State/UT maybe made available to this Ministry in the prescribed format at the e-mailaddresses given above latest by 5th April 2016 for coordinating with Govt. ofJharkhand for ensuring proper stay arrangements, issuing of passes to delegatesand meeting the standard security/protocol requirements.
