LIBRARY NEWSLast week Forest Hill PS celebrated Book Week. We began our celebrations on Monday with our Book Fair. We would like to once again thank the community for their support of this fundraising endeavour. We managed to sell $3377 worth of stock which is a phenomenal effort! The commission we will receive from these sales will go a long way towards purchasing all sorts of resources for our school. On Wednesday we hosted our annual costume parade where we saw Fantastic Mr Fox, Little Red Riding Hood, Wally, Harry Potter, King Pig, Miss Honey, some minecraft characters, Paddington Bear, princesses, vampires, wolves, action heroes and much more. We loved seeing the children (and staff) dressed up as their favourite characters. We also announced the winners of our Year 3-6 Book Bento competition and would like to congratulate; Hayley B., Tyler R., Marley C., Andi S., Karlee R. and Paige B., as well as everyone who entered the competition, for their impressive work!

SPOTLIGHT ON 5/6DFor 5/6D, Term 3 started with who is this, Mr Wills? For a handful of students they had no idea Mr Wills was stepping in and taking over from Miss Davenport. However, the majority of the students knew there was a new teacher at the helm. And it was a ‘boy’ teacher!!!Our team have been working extremely hard to get to know each other and how we all operate. We have had a few challenging days but what is team building without some feeling out moments. On the whole though, Mr Wills feels they are really starting to gel and make progress. Each team member in 5/6D have their own unique and outstanding qualities. Whether it is in English, maths, science, art, sport or classroom discussions we are finding everyone’s hidden talents and not so hidden talents. 5/6D have an abundance of potential, which Mr Wills and the team have to find ways to bring to the surface. Mr Wills is looking forward to seeing what the rest of the year brings.
