HOME & SCHOOL – Our next Home & School Meeting will be January 23rd, 2019, 6:00 p.m. All parents are welcome to come.

POPCORN/CANDY-COOKIE GRAMS – For the month of December the home and school will be selling popcorn every Tuesday for $1.00 per bag, this will be served at 10:10 in time for recess. We will also be selling candy cane grams and cookie grams on Wednesday's, cookies are $1.00 and candy canes are .50 cents. On Wednesday mornings, we will be going around to classes collecting money and to find out who your child wants to send a special treat to, there is no limit on either of these. Please be advised that December 12th there will be no candy grams. St. Jean H&S Team

EARLY CLOSURE - Sometimes, it may be necessary to close individual or families of schools during the day to get children home before weather conditions become too severe. Schools could be closed during the day due to other circumstances such as loss of electricity, flooding, etc. In such cases, announcements will be made on all radio stations. If you do not have access to a radio throughout the day, you must have an emergency contact (such as a neighbor, friend or relative) in place who can notify (contact) you of the early closure of school. In September we asked you for information to give your child’s teacher direction on the plan you have for your son/daughter should we have a mid-day closure? As we approach the winter season and closer to this possibly happening, we ask you to review the plan with your child and inform us immediately if you must make changes. Please remember what address you have provided, we cannot make phone calls for arrangements on that day.

SCHOOL VISITORS AND LATE ARRIVALS - All visitors, including parents/guardians and latearriving students are required to report to the office when entering the school. If you are picking up your child, please wait in the front lobby to alleviate congestion and confusion in thehallways. It is very distracting for your child and other students to have people waiting in the hallway while they are engaged in classroom learning. If you are picking up your child for anappointment please go the office, and we will page them to join you. If you are dropping offforgotten items, such as lunch or homework, please leave these in the office, so as not todisturb classes. These items will be delivered to your child’s classroom.

STUDENT CLOTHING - With the colder weather arriving, it is important for students to dress warmly. Please ensure that your child has warm clothing. On days in the winter that it is safe to be outdoors, students will be outside to enjoy the winter fun during their recess. It is also important that your clothing and boots be labeled.

Reminder!

January 3rd, 2019 is our first day back to school in the New Year!
