March 26, 2021 – The Digital Pakistan Policy 2021 is being developed through an all-inclusive approach to facilitate the IT industry, address impediments that prevent higher level of ICT adoption in Pakistan and

positively impact the growth of ICT exports. In this context, industry consultative sessions have been held in Lahore and Karachi so far and were attended by senior officials of PSEB and concerned stakeholders.

PSEB has actively participated in Pakistan Innovation Roadshows 2021 which have been held across Pakistan to highlight the prowess of Pakistan’s IT/ITeS industry and highlight success stories, particularly of startups. The innovation roadshows have been held in Abbottabad, Malakand, Swat, Peshawar, Mirpur, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sukkur, Hyderabad and Karachi. Additional sessions would be held in Quetta, Lahore, Gilgit, Hunza, Rawalpindi and would culminate with

a roadshow in Islamabad.

Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) and its tech innovation arm, Ignite (National Technology Fund) launched Pakistan's first national investment platform called 'PakImpactInvest,' opening up new investment avenues in the country in Feb, 2021.

AVAILABILITY AND AFFORDABILITY Feb 10, 2021—Universal Service Fund (USF) awarded contract

worth approximately Rs. 1.37 Billion to Telenor for providing High

Speed Mobile Broadband services in Chitral, Upper Dir and Lower

Dir districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Senior officials of the

Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, USF and Telenor were also

present at the ceremony.

Special Communications Organization (SCO), Karakoram International University (KIU) and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) signed an agreement for mutual cooperation in establishment of Incubation Center at KIU premises in Gilgit.
