Circular Quay Tower SydneyThe Circular Quay precinct on George Street includes what could become Sydney’s tallest offi ce tower of up to 263m high.
It is characterised by a network of pedestrian laneways that will be lined with unique shops, cafes and bars.

The redevelopment planned by Lend Lease of the present site located on Miller Street North Sydney, will comprise of the following built elements:
• Construction of a commercial offi ce building with a height of 168 metres (approximately 42 storeys) containing circa 60,000m2 of NLA

• Basement car parking to accommodate up to 150 spaces
• Associated landscaping and public domain works
• Construction of the new Victoria Cross Metro Station including integration between the station and the ground fl oor levels of the over station development
The development of the Victoria Cross Station will provide additional employment and retail opportunities to individuals as well as being able to surpass and integrate connections between pedestrian connections, public domain, commercial offi ce buildings and the Metro Station

Western Sydney Stadium
The new Sydney Metro Martin Place integrated station development includes the new Martin Place Station, underground pedestrian connections and improvements to the public domain.
This much anticipated project will deliver new metro rail services - with the ultimate capacity for a metro train every two minutes in each direction through the centre of the CBD. It will also directly link to existing suburban services at Martin Place.
Key Design Features
• Two station entrances: A northern pedestrian plaza opening to Castlereagh, Hunter and Elizabeth streets and a southern pedestrian plaza opening to Martin Place and Castlereagh Street
• Pedestrian connections to the new metro station, the existing Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra train lines, and nearby bus services
• Station concourse offering customers a covered walkway from Martin Place to Hunter Street, with the potential to extend through to O’Connell Street
• Shops and services including retail and dining that will transform the station into a destination for Sydneysiders and visitors
• Two new commercial offi ce buildings
• Public domain improvements for Martin Place

Bunnings WarehousesConstruction of home improvement warehouses and associated car parking at the below locations for Bunnings.
This $1.5 billion development located in Darling Harbour, Sydney includes a Convention Centre, Exhibition Centre and Theatre
The ICC is an integrated convention, exhibition and entertainment precinct. Convention facilities allow for 3 separated concurrent events, including a grand ballroom for up to 2,000 people. 35,000m2 of exhibition space over 2 levels is provided including a 5,000m2 external event deck with bar and lounge facilities.
The new 8,000 seater (9,000 capacity) theatre with its fan-shaped layout provides unobstructed views to the stage.
Challenges and Key Design Features:• Extended travel distances and reduced egress widths • Reduced fi re ratings• Rationalised smoke exhaust• Addressing multiple stakeholder concerns including FRNSW• The scale and complexity of the design in such a fast tracked program
Outcome:Steve Watson & Partners were engaged by Darling Harbour Live to be the Accredited Certifi ers / Principal Certifying Authority on this landmark project. We worked closely with Hassall Populus the architects, Lendlease the builders and AECOM the fi re safety engineers.
Due to the scale of the project and being a signifi cant public building we were required to have detailed consultation with FRNSW with regards to numerous fi re safety issues on the project.
