  • WebpageDescription: A web page designed to showcase a personally created logo.

Programs: Notepad++ and Web Browsers Date: March 15, 2015 Course: Visual Communication 130 Instructor: Joel Judkins Objectives: Learn to use HTML and CSS programing and mark up styles to create an appealing webpage for a business.

Process: I created this web page using notepad++ and used photoshop to edit a background image that was then insert-ed into the html. I placed my logo into the html and wrote my description and message waiting to do further editing once I had my css inserted and linked into the html. file in order. I used the basic template provided and just played around with the shaping of the basic elements and re-aligned to try to showcase the logo and to allow the background image to compliment it.

  • BrochureDescription: A two sided (duplex) folding brochure.

Programs: InDesign and Photoshop Date: March 29, 2015 Course: Visual Communication 130 Instructor: Joel Judkins Objectives: Learn to create a functional brochure using InDesign by measuring appropriately and making elements work together in a multi dimesional piece.

Process: I split my layer up into four even sections for the size of standard letter paper. The outer most sections would fold both inward and outward allowing it to be a double bro-chure from either side. I took two images of fencing that matched my color scheme with whites, blacks and grays. Each image I cut down the middle and put on the respective sides, carefully measuring to make sure that either way they flipped they would run mesh with each other to complete their image.I then opened a image of a mask and rapier in photo-shop and used the quick selection tool to isolate it from the background and saved the new selection. I then open the image in indesign and placed in inside the central box of both sides and used a text wrap. From there I set up a margin space and ran my paragraph down the central boxes wrapping around the mask image. Moved the text wrap around and moved the text itself around to produce the most visually appealing spacing.
