1. Open the project saved last time
• Open the project that was created and saved from the previous part of the series Task Context
OR
• Create a new project from the Commercial Construction Template and follow the instructions choosing different tasks
2. Assign Resources to a TaskSelect the task Resource Allocation and choose a resource:
Alternatively, select the task and assign resources through the Task Form:
2. Set the project calendarProject tab:
Create a new calendar:
3. Set exceptions to the calendar (Holidays)
Add Thanksgiving as a non-working day: Add Christmas as a non-working day:
4. Apply the new calendarProject tab: Choose the newly created calendar:
5. Work with Fixed UnitsSelect the task Pour concrete elevator walls
Right-click in the Task Form and choose work:
Increase the duration to 2 days and click OK:
Because it is a Fixed Unit task, the 100% of assignment units don’t change. Instead, the end date gets pushed out and work is added.
6. Work with Fixed DurationSelect the task Install pneumatic tube in elevator pit
Select Fixed Duration as the Task Type:
Increase the Units to 200% and click OK:
Because it is a Fixed Duration task, work is added:
7. Work with Fixed Work
Select Fixed Work as the Task Type:
Decrease the Units to 50% and click OK:
Because it is a Fixed Work task, the duration increases:
