Module 4:

Bronze Level: “Pressure Through

Consistency”

Goal:

Proper grips, a consistent Impact Point and a stable

Hitting Zone will allow players to play with consistency.

Players at this level will have the fundamentals to

enjoy playing using basic rallying skills and develop

the ability to initiate the point effectively. They will

learn scoring and gain understanding of tennis

etiquette.

Consistency”Competencies (after 12 weeks of training):

Tactical: “Cooperative Consistency” (sending a slow

paced ball with a medium arc with a partner) moving to

“Competitive Consistency” (pressure through

consistency)

Psychological: Cooperation and having fun while

competing as well as a, „get to every ball‟ attitude

Physical: Coordination, Speed, Flexibility, Strength,

Endurance

Technical: Grip, Set-up, Impact point, Hitting Zone,

Recovery

Precision & Power”

Goal:

By the Completion of this level, players will have soundfundamentals ensuring a good level of consistency.They will have proper biomechanics to increase powerand precision when performing basic tennis tactics.They will understand how to deal with the mostcommon situations they face.

Use of „quality‟ rally balls to keep opponent‟s back(including Returns)

Look to play opponent‟s BH

Choose Proper Responses (level or arcing balls according to Zone or phase of Play

Use FH when receiving balls down the middle

Determination to put every ball in play

Have a, “good position for every ball” attitude

Focused on task

Positive attitude and develop routines

Gold Level: “Pressure by moving and

Opponent and Playing an All-Court game”

Goal:

By the completion of this program, players will have theability to move their opponent using proper ballcontrol for different spins, directions and heights.They also have the ability through sound movementto cover the court effectively and remain consistentwhile moving. They recognize when it is appropriateto defend, neutralize or go on the offence and aredeveloping all aspect of an all court game.

Competencies (after 36 weeks of training at this level):

Recovery based on placement of shot

Serve with direction control and return with direction &distance control (2nd serve to opponent‟s backhand)

Finishes at net

Choose the proper response (Attack, defend, rally)

Determination to get to every ball

Never make the same mistake twice

Focus on keeping the ball in play

Fighting Spirit

program, they graduate to the Full Court

program with Transition ball (e.g. Wilson

EZ Play)
