Here we are again!

As we  come  to  the end of our 8th year,  I’ve been  reflec ng on  some CV  sta s cs. The concert today is our 17th full programme. Over those 17 concerts we’ve racked up a total of 225  items, of which 84 are Christmas songs. We’ve been  involved  in over 50 concerts which have raised almost £50,000 for charity and this is our 4th concert at St David’s Hall. And of our original 26 members from 2008 you’ll s ll find 14 of them amongst our choir tonight and that is one of the sta s cs which pleases me the most. But even now we can s ll have a 1st and that happened  in November when almost 90 singers went on a short tour to the West Country. We performed  in a Cave, a Church and alongside the SS Great Britain!  It was  a  fantas c weekend  and  a wonderful  opportunity  to  sing  some  of  our favourite music in some very different loca ons.

Even before our  concert  today we’ve done  some events  for Ty Hafan and Velindre and we’re not finished yet! We’ve  s ll got  three more events  to do before we hang up our jingle bells and wrap some presents! You can catch us at Belle Vue Park  in Newport next Saturday  (12th) between 1  and  2 on  the bandstand  suppor ng our  friends  at  the  Parc Pantry Tea Room. Then we’re off to Cardiff Golf Club on the 16th and then we finish with our annual John Lewis Carol Singing on the 17th.

May I, on behalf of everyone in City Voices, wish you and yours a wonderful fes ve period and a Happy and Peaceful New Year! See you in 2016 for our year of the MUSICAL!
