GUIDENCE FOR LEARNERS AND MENTORS.

This document, (POLO) has been produced to detail all the learning opportunities available in

the medical directorate.

The learning opportunities are fairly generic to all the medical wards, however there are

specific learning opportunities unique to the individual areas.

It is intended that learners and mentors work together to help the individuals, to select the

appropriate opportunities to meet their specific competencies for the placement.

Learners should not expect to access all of these opportunities while on the placement.

However think of this POLO as a window of learning opportunities available, and select those

that are relevant to them.
