Polishing filtration
In-situ removal of water or methanol in condensation reactions is a most suited method to intensify production of e.g. esters and ethers.
By removing the by-product formed during the condensation reaction a higher yield of product is achieved and possibly less intense catalytic measures are necessary.
By applying hydrophilic silica membranes in in-situ dehydration mode the efficiency of e.g. esterification processes can be significantly improved.
