I was also rather unhappy with the quality of my footage, this was partly due to the setting in which I filmed, the lighting, and the camera I used. Another problem I encountered was the lighting, I filmed some bits with the curtains open, and some bits with them closed and the lights on...this resulted in some of my scenes having different lighting therefore not looking very professional. This was difficult as it did not comply with all of the pre- production work that I had done, which all had the ghost character in it. Problems & Successes What Difficulties did you run into during filming?

During my first stage of filming/ production I encountered numerous problems. One of these problems was that during my first shoot, I did not realise that I had been filming with the 'night' setting on, which resulted in all of my footage being discoloured. The last of these problems was the fact that I had to change my story line due to some of these difficulties, during my re shoot I decided it would be easier to cut out the 'ghost' figure, and instead just show Camilla asleep. This was difficult as it did not comply with all of the pre-production work that I had done, which all had the ghost character in it. Here are some examples of these things shown in my initial footage:

How did you overcome these difficulties/ what did you learn from your mistakes?

The discolouration of my initial footage is shown, the ghost characters cloak appears to be green when

The lighting did not comply with my initial storyline, where it was meant to be night time. I shot this during the day with the curtains open.

Page 2: Problems and Successes

I overcame my first problem by using a different and better camera, I made sure that I had the day setting on and I also made sure that I had my lighting right, which meant filming during night time with the lights on. I overcame the fact that I had to change my storyline by making sure that 'the ghost' was featured in the rest of my film, meaning that I did not have to delete it from my pre production work. My second attempt at filming went very successfully and I was pleased with the footage I got as it looked to be of a better quality. Here are some of the shots that I got the second time around:

Despite these difficulties I ran into whilst producing my opening, I did have some successes, for example, the re-shoot went very well and It only took me about half an hour to film. The editing also went well, and I managed to edit all of my scenes so that they appeared the right colour.

It is evident from this still that the discolouration is gone and the quality of the camera is much better.

This screenshot shows how I had to compromise and change my storyline, so that the ghost character did not appear, and instead Camilla was filmed sleeping.
