About the Ranch
At Remember Me Ranch, our mission is to provide sanctuary for the many scared, starved, unloved animals that are facing euthanasia in the local Baraboo area and throughout the United States.
Please help us fulfill our dreams - adopt, donate, or volunteer at Remember Me Ranch today!
Love,
Cassie and the RMR Team
The name “Remember Me Ranch” was originally from a book, but soon it came to hold a much greater meaning for us. We will never forget those we have lost on our journey to make our dreams come true, espe-cially our founder, Danny Richardson, his cousin Tommy Eckl, and our very first rescue dog, Lina Lou. We’ll miss and love you always.

Then make a donation!Donations are an easy way to help out the Ranch and let us continue to support our furry friends while they’re waiting to find their forever home.We appreciate any contribution, whether it be monetary, sponsorship, or a donation of supplies. You can donate directly from our website by clicking the PayPal button or set up payment directly to [email protected].

Adopting from Remember Me Ranch helps to save lives - and not just the life of the pet you take home. By helping a pet find its forever home, you’re making space for two homeless animals: one at the Ranch and another one at a shelter. And that’s something to be proud of.
Remember Me Ranch is always looking for people to help us make the Ranch run more smoothly! We appreciate any amount of work, from anywhere.
Help needed with...• Walking/Socializing• Cleaning• Transportation• Event Planning• Grooming• Fundraising• Website Management/
Design• Fostering
NEW! Help out with our Furry Food Bank today, to give aid to our local pet owners in the Baraboo area.
The idea of spaying or neutering your pet might not be a pleasant one, but believe us - it benefits everyone in the long run. Your pet will be better-behaved, healthier, and you’ll also help to control the growing number of homeless cats and dogs.
What We DoEvery 4th Wednesday of the month, meet at the Ranch for transportation to Spay Me, a low-cost clinic located in Sun Prairie. Your pet will spend one night at the Ranch.Costs range between $45 - $105 depending on species and sex. Payment is due three days after request.Call us at (608) 356-3555 or go online to reserve a spot.
SPONSORSHIPMany of the animals that come into the Ranch were rescued, and some require more care than others. These animals have just as much right to find a forever home as the healthy ones, but many are never given the chance. By sponsoring our special needs animals, you give them the opportunity to get better and find their forever home at last.
At Remember Me Ranch, we want to ensure that our pets will be placed in good and loving forever homes. We generally require an application, references, a home visit and a contract before you are able to bring your pet home.

I Found My Forever
NAME: Zeus
AGE: 4 Years Old
DATE ADOPTED: 6-15-2011
HIS STORY : Zeus was three years old and terrified of strangers when he came to Remember Me Ranch. However, he was too nice of a dog to let anyone put him down, so RMR went to work.
Zeus went through an extensive positive behavior modification program to help him overcome his fear....and it worked!
Thanks to his training, Zeus just needs to sniff a stranger and he’s ok with them.
Zeus was then adopted by a RMR volunteer who just fell in love with him! He now has a great family, enjoys walks and loves to socialize with his new neighbors.

Director’s Insights We’re so excited to be coming up on the Holi-days. We just celebrated our 1st year at the Ranch, and boy, was it fun! We went through a lot of challenges, loss and change, but we’ve made it through and we’re ready for 2011! In January, we got our first batch of dogs: Dixie, Dolly, Ellis, Scrappy-Doo and Douglas. Boy! We were in for a surprise. There was so much work to do,and I cried for at least two days straight. But it didn’t stop me from saving more!
In April, we suffered such a loss as my husband, Daniel Richardson, died in a boating accident on April15th. After this, we didn’t know if the Ranch would continue after losing him. Eventually, his memory helped me continue on and save more!
In August, we got our first batch of brand new kittens. We renovated the old “Dog House” into “Tommy’s Cat Cottage” so our kittens and cats could Happy holidays from the Ranch! have a happy, warm place to wait for their adoptive homes. Pretty soon, we were full of cats, but it didn’t stop me from saving more!
In November, we rescued a little dog named Minnie…she couldn’t eat or drink and had to be fed

four times a day, but she got a great surgery, and her Christmas wish! That really motivated us to save more! Also, in November, we welcomed in our Cat Manager, Barb Lasek. We renovated the cold basement into a warm apart-ment for Barb, and she was renovated into the crazy cat lady. Now we finally have some more help to be able to save more!
We welcome the New Year, hopefully with success and happiness. We have so much to do yet to continue to makethis place a home for all the animals that come to take refuge. Wish us luck!

boat. On April 15th, Danny and his best friend and Cousin, Tommy Eckl, died on Castle Rock Lake while doing what they loved best – fishing. We all miss Dan so much here; it is not the same without his laughter, jokes and love. But, we have his memories and his support from up above to guide us along. He wanted this property to be a place for us to fulfill dreams and to save animals, just like we saved Lina Lou. Without Danny and Lina Lou, there would be no Remember Me Ranch. So, this Ranch is dedicated to the memory of Dan and his vision of saving the animals.
We named the rescue “Remember Me Ranch” because of a great book, but we never would have guessed what meaning the name would soon hold…Danny Richardson was my husband, best friend, and fellow animal rescuer. He always encouraged me to follow my dreams, so when the 12-acre property in Baraboo came up for sale, he agreed, and we bought it. Then he went to Afghanistan with the Air Force for three months, and was set to come home in April.During this time, our dog, Lina Lou, ran away and was hit on the highway. Dan was devastated and so far away from home. Those two were inseparable - Where ever Danny was, so was Lina Lou. They went fishing, ice fishing and camping together. Once, they spent an entire weekend at the St. Croix River - just Danny and Lina. Danny came home from the war, excited to be a part of the Ranch, and to try out his new fishing
Our Story
Danny and Lina
Minnie’s Columnsince before I went into surgery, and I’m on my way to being a big girl!
I’m almost ten weeks old now, and I’m still learning potty training and good manners (I like to bite, I just can’t help myself). In January, I’m going to puppy school to learn how to be a good dog and play with other puppies, I just can’t wait. And to think that if I wouldn’t have had the surgery, I wouldn’t be able to enjoy any of this!
My mom says that we’re gonna have a big party for me after the new year so we can raise money for the Ranch and for my surgery bills. I hope I get to meet all my fans soon, I’m very popular, you know…Thank you everyone for helping me, my Christmas prayers were answered.
-Love, Minnie
Dear Everyone,
I talked my mom into letting me write this column, because, you see I’m a UW- Madison Alumni now, and that means I’m very smart. I had a wonderful surgery there, and everyone was so nice to me, and fixed me up so that I don’t regurgitate all my food. My mom said that it was really expensive, but she knows I’m worth it. I’m feeling so much better now – the first few days, I still threw my food up a bit, but now, almost three weeks later, I’m almost good as new. I still eat four times a day standing up, and I have to be held for at least twenty minutes (which I love, cause I’m a snugglebug), but now I get to eat all my food and be full! It’s a great feeling, and it gives me so much energy to play with my favorite big brother, Marco. I’ve gained two pounds

In August of this year, we had a wonderful fundraiser with Bridget Marquardt, a very beautiful and sweet Playboy Bunny and reality star, at Ho-Chunk Casino. For every autograph she signed, she charged $5, and donated all the cash to the critters! We raised just over $1000! Not bad for our first fundraiser ever…
