Principal News Week 1 Term 2 Welcome back to Term 2, I hope all families had a lovely break and spent some quality time with family. Although these holidays were a very different format to what we are used to. We would like to thank everyone in the Morgan community for your positive attitude and flexibility given these challenging times. We are very proud of how the community has adapted so quickly and made the necessary changes to ensure continuity of learning for our students continues. I want to give a huge shout out to our amazing teachers and support staff for their hard work re-contextualising the curriculum into a remote learning model and providing a face-to-face model as well. Thank you to our parents for preparing and providing the conditions and environment conducive to learning. With the department and health minister’s recommendations, Morgan primary and preschool strongly encourages families to send their children to school provided they are well. We have returned to normal class structures and curriculum. This means over the next week we will be progressively phasing out online learning. Staff changes for term 2 as follows: Mr Earle will be teaching Japanese Tuesday’s with support from Rie Uchida Mrs. Miller will be teaching 3-5 Thursday’s Mrs. Claridge will be teaching R – 3 Friday’s With over 70% of our students attending school, the ability to manage this format is not sustainable. For those families that choose to continue with home learning you will need to collect a work pack between 2:00 – 4:00pm Monday 4 May, previous work will need to be returned to school for marking. We will have our ups and downs over the next couple of weeks and things will not always go as planned, but I am sure we will all learn from our experiences and come out stronger on the other side. Rest assured though, that we are all in this together, and there will not be any problems that we will not be able to solve together. Please do not hesitate to share your experiences both positive and negative with us, so that we can support each other and work together in the best interests of our students and families. If you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact the school via email, text, seesaw messaging or phone and I will personally answer any queries or concerns.
