wait to see who they play in the Riverina final.
Thankyou to Lee, Zara, Macka and Julie who officiated games and to our
parents who came along to give support. Well done NPS girls and Coach, Mrs

Supporting continuity of learning for all students
Our staff have been working hard to develop a suite of learning resources and options for students to undertake from home. The Department has developed and will continue to develop resources and offer professional learning to help teachers with this task.
Whether your child is at school or at home, the aim is for all students to access the consistent learning content provided by our school. This may mean sending work home, either with physical materials or by email, or by making use of one of our online platforms at our school.
You will be contacted by your child’s classroom teacher on a regular basis, with students being able to join in on daily Zoom sessions over the coming weeks or for as long as this order is in place.
Teachers will be basing their programs on Google Docs, however this work will also be available from the school in paper form for those who do not have internet access. Feedback of work will be part of our structures and supports.
I encourage you to contact the school if you require further information or you require support.
Year 3 2022 – Transition
We are now taking enrolments for our 2022 Year 3 classes. Obviously, students who currently attend our school in Year 2 will automatically transfer to Year 3 next year. This notice is for our NEIS students intending to attend NPS next year or any new students.
Unfortunately, due to the current stay-at-home orders both our Kindergarten and Year 2 transition programs have been placed on hold. Further information will be forwarded to those parents once we have a clearer picture of how long this order will be in place. Please keep in touch as we are here to support you and your family.
Term 3 – Yr 2 Transition Week 6 – Thursday 19th August (half day) - CANCELLED Week 8 – Thursday 2nd September (half day) Week 10 - Thursday 16th September (half day)
Finally, I would like to wish all our parents, students and our community the best of health as we enter these uncertain times. Please support each other and remember the school will continue to support families who require it. At this point in time, we do not have a clear understanding as to how long this order will be in place, however information will be forwarded when updates are received.
Have a great week.

We have been working hard in Literacy, reading the book ‘Where there’s smoke’ together. We are also improving our knowledge of synonyms and antonyms, as well as learning to compare and evaluate different texts.
It was a busy couple of weeks getting through the athletics carnival, but we all enjoyed competing against our friends. Now that athletics is over, we have begun learning Pilates. It has been very challenging, we always feel exhausted and sore when it is finished.
In geography we have started our research on natural disasters and are looking forward to turning this research into an informative speech to present at the end of term.

Last week we read one of Mel's favourite stories- 'Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons'!! Everyone enjoyed the use of rhyme and repetition in the book and showed how well they could count down as Pete lost his buttons one by one.
We then helped Pete find his buttons in our groups with more pattern work. We did some tricky searches with Ms Neville and went to the beach with Mrs Day!!
It is really easy to forget what happens at big School by the time little people get home- but see if you can jog some memories with those prompts!!
As everyone will be aware by now, Transition will not be occurring this week due to the stay at home orders issued on Saturday.
As soon as we can recommence the program we certainly will let families know via email, mobile and the closed Facebook group. If you haven't joined the group yet, please text Mel for the link on 0437488944.
Remember the best things you can do with your little learners is read with them!! and sing with them! We all LOVE singing 5 fat sausages!! Encourage them to do independent acts such as opening their own snacks, taking off and putting on jumpers and shoes.
All of these things we can still do at home will help for next year.
Stay safe at home.
