School Closure Daily Learning Plan: Reception Hello Reception It’s Thursday which means it is ‘Tricky Word’ Day. Don’t forget to play the Tricky Word Trucks game on the phonics play website. We have now finished learning all the new tricky words that we need to in Reception. Over the next four weeks, spend the time making sure you can read and write the tricky words from Phase 2, Phase 3 & Phase 4. This will be good practice for when you are in Year One. Are you enjoying learning about sea creatures? What have you learned about octopus? Have you written a sentence or two about octopus? Did you learn anything you didn’t already know? I really loved the octopus videos and can’t believe how big they are. I can’t wait for Mrs Long to finish her big octopus in school. When she has, I will post a picture on the website. When you’re counting today, get out some 10p’s and see if you can count in 10’s using the coins. Have a wonderful day Love from Mrs Turley Week 11 – Thursday 25 th June 2020 Subject Area Task Phonics Tricky Words We have now finished learning all the tricky words in Reception. School Closure Daily Learning Plan: Reception

Hello Reception

It’s Thursday which means it is ‘Tricky Word’ Day.

Have a wonderful dayLove fromMrs Turley

Phonics Tricky WordsWe have now finished learning all the tricky words in Reception. The next four weeks will be used to revise the tricky words from Phase 2, Phase 3 and Phase 4. This is the time to ensure your child confidently reads, spells and writes independently the words we have covered. Each week I will post a formal activity to help, but you can continue to use the tricky word songs, tricky word books, tricky word games using the computer / tablets and spelling tests.

This week I have included a page for helping with Phase 4 words. If you have access to a printer, print and use these pages to help your child be able to write these words by themselves. If you do not have access to a printer, ask your child to use their tricky word book to copy the words and then see if they can write them without looking.

Maths Counting in 10’sSing the counting in 10’s songs from our class website. https://st-annes-sutton-coldfield.secure-primarysite.net/video-clips-summer-2/

How far can your child rote count in 10’s? Can they get to 100? Can they write it?

Challenge your child furtherPlay with 10p coins. Count out 10 x 10p coins and see how much you’ve got by counting in 10’s: 10p, 20p, 30p…..90p 100p (which is the same as £1.00)

WEDNESDAY - THURSDAY

Write Facts About OctopusFollowing watching the videos, say a sentence with a fact you know about octopus. Remember your noisy full stop. Try to write that sentence using a capital letter, finger spaces and a full stop. Now draw a picture.

Make your own OctopusGet creative and make your own octopus. I have included some craft ideas above using collage materials. You might like to draw or paint a picture or even use chalks on the pavement to make your own octopus.

Octopus 2D Shape PictureIf you have access to a printer, download and print the document above. Ask your child to name and describe the shapes they can see. Now ask them to use these shapes to make an octopus.
