Purpose of Pre-Bid Meeting
1. To provide background information2. Opportunity for clarifications from bidders3. Dissemination of any important information regarding the project
Background
Water Supply and Sanitation Infrastructure Improvement Program (WSSIIP)
Objective: The program aims to improve efficiency, quality and sustainability of the potable water services and improve sanitation in GT and other area along the coast.
Aging infrastructure assets
Poor water quality (raw
water)
Poor access to adequate sanitation
Low Level of Service + no continuity of
supply
Rapid development in program
areas
Increase in NRW-losses
Background Cont.
Water Supply and Sanitation Infrastructure Improvement Program -
ComponentsReduce the level of NRW in program areas
Improve access to sanitation in program areas
Improve pressure, quality and continuity of the water supply service in program areas
Strengthen GWI performance in its operational and management practice

The design uses a 200l/hd/day which is based upon the reduction of NRW- it is expected that this demand falls towards 175l/hd/day dependent upon GWI introducing demand management
Design Parameters for New WTP Cont.
Pressure at the edge of the service area = 10 to 14m of head (pressure). Storage has been catered for 24hrs of treated water storage to be provided in
each service area.Water quality baseline The WHO standard has been established as the
target for the treated water quality - (pH, turbidity, iron content).Process Guarantee WHO Standards for Potable Water 100% of the time. Production capacity Able to produce the required design capacity 100% of
the time.
