Prayers or Songs?

• The Psalms pair heart language with worship activities. (40% prayers)

• This pair of psalms are probably intended for a soloist to pray or sing publicly.

• They are 2 of 38 individual prayer psalms in the 150 piece collection.

What is a selah?

• Selah is a technical, musical term. • Is occurs in 71x in 39 psalms in a variety of

patterns. • Almost always in psalms inscribed with

David’s name.• It is an “addition” word.

• beautifully balanced, symmetrically spaced
