Prayer of Trust

Most Sacred and Merciful Heart of Jesus, I know not what trials may come to me this day, but I am certain that nothing will happen to me which Thou hast not foreseen and decreed. I trust Thy love for me in all and through all and in spite of all.

Young Women’s Group

The YWG are hosting a Pancake Breakfast next Sunday, April 10th after the 8:00 & 10:30am Masses in the Parish Hall. Cost: $5 Adults and $3 Children (under 12). Anointing of the Sick Because of the Privacy Act, hospitals and nursing homes are no longer able to provide a list of the Catholic patients/residents for the Churches use in order to visit and administer the Sacraments of Holy Communion or Anointing of the Sick. Therefore, I need your assistance when you have a family member who is hospitalized or in a nursing home. Please call Fr. ************************************************* Easter Egg hunts: Thanks to God for the beautiful sunny sky and diminished wind 10 minutes before the start of the first egg hunt. The children had a great time scrambling to gather the eggs. Hannah Sauceda was the Easter Bunny after the 10:30am Mass, and Pila Rodriguez was the Easter Bunny after the 12:15pm Mass. They had fun posing for pictures with the little children. Thanks to them and all the Confirmation students that helped stuff eggs for the egg hunts, show up on Sunday morning to “hide” the eggs and stay to clean up afterwards. Thanks also to special angels, Omaira Alvarado, Valerie Thurman and Kathy Espino, for taking care of the egg hunt after the 12:15pm Mass. ************************************************* Lenten Sacrifice Project Thanks to all the students that placed money in their Lenten Sacrifice boxes. These boxes are to be turned in to their teachers this week.

The money collected from the Lenten project this year will benefit the St. Vincent De Paul Society at St. Martin’s in Forney, where many of our parishioners have been referred in time of need. ************************************************* Confirmation Retreats in April Deacon Jose Mora, a youth minister and active Deacon in the Diocese of Lubbock, will present two Confirmation retreats on April 9th and 10th.

• The 8th grade retreat is Saturday, April 9th starting at 10:00am and ending with Mass at 4pm.

• The High School retreat begins with Mass at 8am on April 10th and ends at 3pm.

Confirmation Masses The Confirmation Mass for students in Grade 8 will be celebrated on Friday, May 13th, at 7pm.

The Confirmation Mass for High School students will be celebrated on Friday, May 20th, at 7pm. Students in the 8th grade Confirmation class who have a sibling in the High School Confirmation class will be confirmed with their sibling on May 20th.

The newly confirmed students will be honored at a reception in the Parish hall after each of the Confirmation Masses. The following is the schedule for First Reconciliation, Rehearsal and First Communion:

v Esto lo dijeron los discípulos de Jesús al anochecer del

día de la resurrección…y Tomás no les creyó. v Esto lo decimos los cristianos de ahora…y no hay

muchos que nos crean. v Y es que ahora –como en aquellos tiempos- hay mucha

gente que únicamente cree lo que ve con sus propios ojos y toca con sus propias manos.

v Ahí están, para no ir más lejos, ese par, trío o quinteto de Tomasitos que hemos echado al mundo y que no creerán que nosotros, sus papás, hemos visto con los ojos de la fe al Señor si no ven que nos queremos, rezamos y ayudamos a los demás como él mismo nos lo mandó.

v Ahí está, al lado de nuestra casa, la familia de don Tomás, que tampoco creerá que nuestra familia ha visto al Señor, si ven y oyen que vivimos como perros y gatos.

v Por ahí andan Tomasín, Tomasita y todos los Tomases y Tomasas del mundo –de nuestro pequeño mundo de todos los días- que jamás creerán que nosotros los cristianos hemos visto al Señor, mientras estas palabras no se traduzcan en algo más visible y palpable.

v Ellos, con mucha mayor razón que Tomás, quieren ver y tocar.

El Grupo de Muchachas Jóvenes van a tener “Almuerzo de panqueque” el próximo domingo, 10 de abril después de las Misas de las 8 y 10:30am en el Salón Parroquial.
