    Jobs, with marketing help from a friend, had the

    vision of creating a computer company that wouldmake and sell pcs.

    After showing the Apple I to in town computerstores, Jobs was able to sell 25.

    After selling his Volkswagon mini-bus, and askingWoz to sell his scientific calculator, the two raisedenough money to create Apple Computers.

    Jobs and Woz sold theApple I in 1976 for$666, making over$776,000 from sales

    In 1977, the tworeleased the Apple II,a single boardcomputer withonboard ROM and acolor video interface.

    From 1977 to 1983, Apple continued to growexponentially.

    In 1981, IBM finally entered the personalcomputer market, and in just two years beganto outsell Apple.

    After the failure of the Apple III and Lisa,Jobs needed a new computer that couldcompete with the IBM PC.

    In 1985, Bill Gates convinced Jobs to licensethe graphical user interface in the Macintoshto create Windows, which could run on IBMPCs.As sales of the Macintosh took off, CEO JohnSculley thought that Jobs was hurting Apples

    success, and gradually forced Jobs to leave.

    The foundation of the group was laid with " Satkar", a restaurant opposite

    churchgate station, Mumbai, in 1958.

    The group gained more strength with the opening of "Suvidha Restaurant" at

    D.N Road and "Suruchi Restaurant" at New Marine Lines, Mumbai.

    With " Suruchi Restaurant and Bar", the group further expanded its

    operations into the non vegetarian restaurant category.

    The group further consolidated its position in the family restaurant business

    with the opening of " Status" and " Santoor" in 1982 and after this chain of "Kamat Super Snacks" was commissioned.

    Kamat Hotels ( India) Limited (KHIL) was incorporated on 21st March 1986.
