I have learned how important Social Media is for networking with professionals, how it can help you get a head start in the workforce, to be up to date with technology, & to have FUN too!
I have learned how important News Releases are to the Public Relations field. The13 parts of a News Release was such a simple format… It was also interesting to hear opposing viewpoints of the news release.

I learned the style of AP and how it differentiates from other writing styles. Most editors and employees in PR prefer AP Style so it was great that we went over the main differences, especially in PR writing, for example in press releases.
I learned the importance for ethics in the workplace and the guidelines of the Codes of Ethics for PR Professionals.
I learned that PR Firms come in all shapes and sizes and provide a variety of services. There is a fine line between marketing, advertising and PR, and it is beneficial to be familiar with all three.
The field of PR must be very careful when dealing with clients because there are regulations for everything. I have learned always have reliable source. Also, check copyrights, trademarks, FTC guidelines, etc…
I enjoyed learning about different PR careers because there is such a variety of places to work in PR. There is corporate, non-profit, firms, etc… I also enjoyed the PR interviews and the Three professionals that came to speak to our class!
With technology advancing everyday, PR is going to still strive to stay with it. The internet is a primary communication that will continue to change PR. Other changes include, satellite transmission, voice generation and electronic blackboards
