This month’s cover image was awarded a Blue Ribbon at the February 2015 competition. Titled “Love is to Be with You” was created by Luis Espinosa. Luis tells us, “This image was created with a Canon 5D Mark II at ISO 250 F/2.8 and 1/2500. I post-processed the image in Camera Raw, to recover some shadows and crop it. Photoshop was used to add a yellow texture.”

PPA’s Newest Addition: PhotoVisionIf you missed Imaging USA, you might

not have heard the news: PhotoVision is now a PPA membership benefit! What does this mean? It means that PPA photographers now have full access to PhotoVision’s monthly streaming at no additional cost. It now comes included with PPA membership!

PhotoVision is the popular bi-monthly DVD and streaming photography learning program founded by Ed Pierce, M.Photog.Cr. For 17 years, PhotoVision has offered photographers professional education and solutions through cinematic-quality HD videos from some of the biggest names in photography.

What exactly does PhotoVision do for you as a photographer? PhotoVision videos feature tips, processes and techniques from real, working, successful professional photographers. The videos expand and strengthen the professional photography industry as a whole, aligning well with PPA’s mission to do the same.

Ed Pierce will continue to produce PhotoVision’s videos. “Nobody does this better than Ed,” said David Trust, CEO. “He is the gold standard and it is a lot of fun work so closely with him on this.” While PhotoVision continues to operate as its separate entity, PPA photographers now can tap into PhotoVision’s entire library of 800+ videos through PhotoVision’s 24/7 monthly streaming.

“PPA members are always seeking to grow as artists and business professionals,” said Angela Kurkian, director of education. “I’m so excited we’re able to offer this under the PPA umbrella of benefits. PhotoVision offers such a wealth of information, it’s easy to access and this is the type quality learning our members look for.”

Photographers who belong to PPA also receive 50% off all PhotoVision DVDs. Non PPA photographers can still subscribe to or renew with PhotoVision at their current rates.

For more information, visit PPA.com/PhotoVision.

PPA News

See the Difference: Weddings

PPA is rolling out a whole new set of See The Difference videos for PPA members to use with prospects and clients. If you’re unfamiliar, the See The Difference campaign is a collection of consumer-facing resources to help photographers educate clients on the advantages to hiring a true professional. Utilizing these videos on websites and social media will raise awareness on the advantages a true professional will provide. Show potential clients why they should hire you—a true professional! Another video will be coming next month, and all the resources are available here: http://www.ppa.com/ppa-today-blog/business/see-the-difference-wedding-pho.php

The video is a reminder that

when it comes to weddings, the day happens so quickly that one barely remembers all the details. A PPA photographer not only stays focused, but captures the emotion - not just the composition. (If you do not photograph weddings, no

worries: there are videos for other specialties on the See The Difference Resource page!) If you are with PPA, you can also download logos, customizable brochures, Facebook tabs, and other marketing materials to educate your clients. It’s marketing help that support YOU as PPA photographers.

Live Webinars

PPA has a continuing stream of live webinars available. Take a look at the schedule and get them on your calendar. The learning never stops! Your educational opportunities are endless at PPA!

Remember: PPAedu’s

live webinars are FREE to anyone (PPA members and non-members alike). PPA photographers also get 24/7 access with free on-demand replays + all that is on PPAedu’s platform!
