General information of Hattula:

The municipality of Hattula has been established at 1868. It is a small, growing and vital town in Tavastia Proper of Finland. There are about 9750 residents living there in Hattula. The area of Hattula is about 427 square kilometers and the population density is 27,3 residents / km².

The mayor of Hattula is called Lauri Inna, the chairman of the municipal government Kari Ventola and the chairman of the municipal council Kaj Nordenswan. One of the most widely used highways in Finland splits the municipality of Hattula. There is also the Parola Railway Station, one of the four remaining original station buildings at Finland’s first railway.

There are a lot of possibilities to do in Hattula! For example: boating, riding, football, golf, frisbeegolf, theater, different culture services, swimming, gym services, navigation sports, hiking, skating, rollerskating and so on…

What can you find in Hattula?

There is so much to see! You can find the Holy Cross church from the 15th century. It represents gothic architecture and has been an important pilgrimage subject in the Middle Ages. Upon motorway, at the intersection of Hattula you can see an interesting monument of the municipality of Hattula, Leopard 2 A4 tank. The Armour museum locates at Parolannummi so as the armored brigade of the Finnish Defence Forces and The Lion of Parola -monument. From the center of Hattula you can find another church called the Hattulachurch from the 19th century and the third one from Tyrvanto, grounded 1801.

Hattula is known for a nationalist writer called Jaakko Juteini (born in 1781) and a concrete-made bridge, called the Mierola bridge, built right after the Civil War in 1919. The Municipal library and the new, 2016 completed multipurpose center are named by Juteini.

There are a lot of beautiful estates in Hattula and an old, significant institute where you can study horticulture. The winery of Lepaa produces domestic Finnish high quality wines. The interesting clay workshop and the gardening museum locates at the same area.
