POWER: Mr. Jackson I understand that you are working on a major project for the American Cancer Society, could you please explain?

Mr. Jackson: Yes, it’s the Annual African American Men’s Health Conference which will be held in Prince Georges, Maryland this year.

POWER: Tell us about this event.

Mr. Jackson: We are targeting African American men to participate in a free, overall health screening to enlighten them on the benefits of preventive health care and how to better take care of their bodies.

POWER: What will take place at this conference?

Mr. Jackson: We will first start off by having a free breakfast while encouraging the participants on three major health issues in the African American community, which will be Colorectal, Prostate and overall health awareness.

POWER: You seem to be very passionate about this, why is this venture so relevant to you?

Mr. Jackson: I’ve personally never been affected by cancer, but Diabetes and Heart Disease affects my family tremendously, so I really wanted to at least try to make a difference in African American Men’s Health.

POWER: How can anyone help to make this event become successful for the Cancer Society?

Mr. Jackson: We are in need of volunteers to commit to the day of

the event. We also need friends, family and love ones to take an interested in either sharing this event with someone or actually bringing them to the event to take advantage of the screening.

POWER: Do you need health insurance for the screening?

Mr. Jackson: No. On the day of this event we welcome the uninsured as well as the insured.

POWER: At what age should a proper screening take place?

Mr. Jackson: We encourage men at the age of 45 to begin yearly health screenings.

POWER: We would like to know if the screenings are painful?

Mr. Jackson: Because of my age, I have not personally been screened, but everyone who I know that have experienced this says it’s painless.

POWER: How can we obtain more information about this event and overall African American Men’s Health?

Mr. Jackson: We have a wealth of information available on our website. You can go to www.cancer.org.

My Strength

The joy of the Lord is your strength.Nehemiah 8:10

Sometimes it seems that God is asking you to do something that you just don’t think you can do. You get weak just thinking about it. You don’t think you have the strength, the resolve, the will or the determination to obey.

Do what makes God happy – and in that you are strong. The joy of the Lord will become your strength. Whatever makes God happy will make your strong.

No matter what it looks like to anyone else, if it brings Him joy, then do it, say it, be it and that is where your strength comes from.

In your weakness is His strength. So being strong has nothing to do with your capabilities or lack of weakness. It has to do with what you do for Him.

All you have to do is do what He is asking you to do and everything will fall in place.

POWER: What is your inspiration behind Bmorenews.com?Mr. glover: My inspiration was to continue the work of the Baltimore Empowerment Zone after it ended. I had met some great people there and wanted to keep a strong presence in Baltimore City.

POWER: Why is this endeavor important to you?Mr. glover: It became my mission to continue to enlighten the African American community and inform them accurately, as I tell the true and honest stories of Black Americans.

POWER: What made you decide to take this route?Mr. glover: Business is a journey and it fascinates me. My dad owned a funeral business and I watched and learned firsthand on how to run a successful business. Its in my blood. I breathe this.

POWER: How long have you been doing work like this?Mr. glover: Since the age of 10 in elementary school I gave the morning news and also served a paper route for the Afro American Newspaper. I also did radio and television news as well.

POWER: Beside bringing us the latest news about African Americans, you also give a lot of encouragement and pay a lot of homage to our ancestors. What keeps your drive?

Mr. glover: I have the ability to write what I want. I always feel that my ancestors are with me and they are the glue who paved and suffered for all of us. I am also blessed to do my job without added stress and pressure because I own my company.

POWER: You have so many followers on your website, what helped you achieve those numbers and what are they?Mr. glover: I was told that my website was organically grown from word of mouth and person by person. I have received over 1.5 million hits and have over 2100 subscribers.

POWER: What is your continued mission for DM global Public Marketing & Relations and Bmorenews.com? Mr. glover: To continue my monthly Business networking meeting and working to help see successful businesses grow and flourish.

POWER: What’s next for you?Mr. glover: To continue to inform, inspire, and help mankind through my business and consisted prayer.

POWER: Do you think you will expand beyond Baltimore?Mr. glover: I have successfully achieved that goal and my site is currently in 144 countries.

POWER: Who has been most instrumental and influential in your life?Mr. glover: I would have to say Mrs. Lillie Glover and Mr. Donald Edward Glover, my Mom and Dad who taught me how to love, filled me with courage and the passed on to me gift of entrepreneurship.
