and here you’ll find some of the work/things I did during my architecture school, internship I made, but also to help friend, and during free time.

My diploma : lets start from the end. Step 1 : the project area : it takes place in Basel, switzerland in the district of St. Johann, in the place of the old house of correction : schällemättelli

Page 3: Portfolio nb

Step 2 : experimentation and models ..I tried different ways to occupy the con-struction area : the free plan, the Hauss-mannien block and the open block. I fi-nally decide on a building which will be able to create different public spaces but at the same time close the streets around to respect the city shape.

Step 3-4-5-6-[..........................] : THE PROJECT ! The position of the building area inside the city of Basel was in direct relationship with the pedestrian ways. It is located in St Johann’s district between several parks and places. My goals were to build without destroying the pedes-trian link between the North of the town and the city cen-ter, and to create urbanity. I chose to design a building which would unroll around public spaces.

The program is a reflection of the district, which is a cam-pus for the science faculty. It is missing students dorms and, moreover, the new UKBB hospital is just next to the building. This is a children hospital but with no space for the parents. That is why I also wanted to create apartments for those par-ents: flats for short-time stays. Those two different kinds of spaces also need services like a laundry, an Internet point and some shops: all those where in the ground floor, which was totally a open public space.

For the flats, I tried to create different types to ac-comodate various family situations: for single people, for couples, shared flats and family flats. The students also have private rooms to work or relax

City Hall Annex The purpose of this exercise was to create an annex for a town hall, could be used as a exhibition hall. I had to choose a theme for this exhibition and make it correspond with the realization of the annex. Adrien Fainsil-ber’s town hall was divided in two distinct parts: a castle and a more recent building, so I decided to create an annex that would be a barge, creating a link between the old castle and the recent building. It would host an exhibition presenting photos and focusing on the village’s story from the old times to nowadays, and designed in a way to go under the water as if going back in the time.

Other works I made during my studies.

A House for Architecture. This building takes place in the neighbourg of the city center of Strabourg. There is nothing interes-tant around but the horse of the new art museum. The building is looking at the horse, and the horse is looking at the city center, it gives a direction and a kind of movement to pedestrian who comes there. I tryed to catch the more interessant view, and in the same times to creat an interessting inner space, where exhibition and conference could happened.

Urban renewal in a old factory in Leipzig. After analyse we decided that only the half of the building was interessant to keep, that’s why we cover the most damaged part with a garden. The shape of the garden was like waves and by this way we could made the light entering under this garden.

An congress center-hostel. This hostel was next to a very busy street, and so everything was about speed. I try to play with the design of the façade with a picture of cars on a highway, to intensify the feeling of this speed. In the other direction it was a beautiful garden, all the room of the hostel where oriented in this di-rection. The congress center was underground so i could cover it with a garden to have a connection with the street and that allowed me to use organic shape and to play with natural ceiling lights.
