Presidency 1 July 2011 -30 December 2011
The Polish Presidency will aim to put the European Union on the path to faster development and will focus on Tyree priorities.
• - European Integration as a Source of Growth
• - Secure Europe – food, energy,defence• - Europe Benefiting from Openness
Requirements
• Graduate student status or higher education;• knowledge of foreign languages (looking for people who speak languages of the EU at a level which allows free communication);• General orientation in the subject of the EU;• communication skills, discipline, punctuality, manners;• welcome those who have completed a tour guide course;• welcome people with experience in international relations (eg Erasmus);• good intentions
For volunteers an enormous responsibility, because they, being the first contact people, act
as business cards of Krakow and Malopolska. Working with the organization of meetings for young people is also an opportunity
to work suspected organizers of important international events and the
opportunity to establish interesting contacts.
FUNDING PROJECTSFrom November 2010 to May 2011, the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs made several calls for proposals of projects related to the Polish Presidency to be organized by non-governmental organisations:
• November 2010: The tender for completing the task “Polish Presidency of the EU Council”. The total amount of funding to be allocated was 1,090,000 PLN.
• December 2010: The tender for completing the task “Regional European Information-2011”. The total amount of funding to be allocated was 1,900,000 PLN.
• January 2011: The tender for completing the task “Promoting Knowledge of Poland”. The total amount of funding to be allocated was 4,000,000 PLN.
• March 2011: The tender for completing the task “Communication Priorities”. The Total amount of funding to be allocated was 200,000 EUR. (The call for tender was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on behalf of the European Commission.)
• May 2011: The tender for completing the task “Strengthening the Position of Polish Non-governmental Organisations in the European Dialogue on the Policy and Developmental Cooperation During the Polish Presidency of the EU Council”. The total amount of funding in the project reached 100,000 PLN.
• May 2011: tender for completing the task “Information on the Polish Presidency of the EU Council”. The total amount of funding reached 826,000 PLN.
