The Indian IT Story

A recent study by NASSCOM showed that revenue of USD 2 billion was generated from 2,400 product development firms in India out of which 1,100 companies have been started only in the last five years.

Most of these innovations are primarily targeting three sectors –Telecom, Healthcare and Education

Animation studios in India have predominantly restricted themselves to production and post production segments and have generally stayed away from creating content.

Most of these studios have a good penetration in US but find European penetration challenging.

On the other hand, there are a good number of Indian firms creating content in the casual gaming sector (mobile & social gaming sector) and require customization and distribution support.

Companies in segments like e-learning are exploring partnerships that will help them enhance their portfolio and gain market access.

Summary

The large receptive Polish market and its strategic location in Europe make it a very strong proposition for IT Outsourcing to the European Market eg. Locations such as Krakow, Wroclaw, Warsaw etc.

With the Indian economy emerging among the fastest growing in the world, Polish companies also view India as an important investment destination.

 Among the Top 50 Emerging Global Outsourcing Cities, Krakow ranks No. 4 and Warsaw No. 28. 

Poland is becoming increasingly attractive for Indian companies. According to data provided by the Ministry of Economy, trade between the two countries reached a level of $1.3 billion in 2010.

Aptech Ltd, a specialist in IT training services, has signed an agreement with Syntea SA of Poland agreeing to invest $1 million for an 8.33 per cent stake in the Polish company. Through this agreement, the company plans to reach out to the market in Poland and later to Bulgaria and Romania.(Feb 15th 2012)
