Axlings Linne has been working with linen since 1992. The idea to start our own linen company was born out of the love for natural materials and the desire to create beautiful linen products. We have always combined classic material and traditional production techniques with modern Scandinavian design.

Today, we are proud of our linen products and the quality and function they provide to our clients around the world – from interior design shops, restaurants and catering firms to hotels, spas and beauty salons. We also provide specialized services, such as sewn logotypes, customized tablecloths and individual design requests. You can find our resellers throughout Sweden as well as in Europe, Canada, the United States and Japan.

In our assortment, you will find linen products for all of your needs – from tablecloths, runners, towels, napkins to bed linens, cushion covers, bath towels and toiletry bags as well as fabric by meter.

F R E D R I K A X L I N G

Axlings Linne To me, linen represents the perfect blend of qualities. It is natural, warming, cooling and, above all, durable. Nothing ages more beautifully.

Made from the fibers of the flax plant, linen textiles are amongst the oldest textiles in the world. The plant itself requires a great deal of attention to make linen this beautiful, durable and strong. The fibers do not stretch and are resistant to damage from wear and tear. Linen is also one of the few textiles that is actually stronger wet than dry.

Flax grows and thrives well in cool and wet climates, which means that irrigation is not necessary. This makes linen a good choice for the planet, since water is often a shortcoming.

Because of it’s superior quality, linen has been preferred for table and bed covers and in kitchens and bathrooms for centuries.

Linen is relatively easy to take care of since it is so resistant to dirt and stains. It has relatively minor linting and pilling tendencies, feels cool to the touch and can easily be dry-cleaned, machine-washed or steamed. It can withstand high temperatures, has moderate shrinkage and gets softer and more beautiful the more it is washed. It can also absorb water more effectively compared to cotton.

100% linen can be washed in between 40–90° C. Linen terry and linen/cottton mixes should be washed in between 40–60° C. Unwashed linen has a shrinkage of ca 5–7%. It should not be tumble dried too extensively (except for towelling where it is recommended). It is much easier to iron when it’s damp. Linen also wrinkles very easily, something that is a part of it’s special charm and beauty.
