TOGETHER WE LEARN
‘Today's schools – creating tomorrow's world'
The annual Book Fair was very busy with students and their
families purchasing a wide variety of texts for student
enjoyment and to further develop their love of literature.
A big thank you to everyone who came and visited our
Book week Book fair last week. As a result of your support
the library was able to add lots of popular new books to
their collection. We have a great range of beautiful books
for young readers in our library so please encourage your
children to remember their library bags each week and
start borrowing.
Franklin Celebrates Education Week!
Last Tuesday, Franklin Public School celebrated Education Week 2018. Parents, relatives and
friends joined together for a special Education Week assembly. The K-2 students beautifully
performed songs for the audience, as did the school choir.
Students had the opportunity to showcase their learning for their families with classroom visits.
Groups were involved in problem-solving tasks for the session, using skills which they have been
refining within classroom numeracy initiatives. Current artwork, projects and books were displayed
for viewing.
Education Week at Franklin certainly continues to celebrate the efforts and achievements of the
students, the staff and the school community as a whole.
CELEBRATING FRANKLIN!

Touch Football Knockout Competition
Last Friday our senior girls and boys touch football teams participated in
Round 3 of the NSW PSSA Touch Football Knockout against Gundagai
Public School. We were lucky to have the home game in the draw and
played both matches down at Twickenham, Tumut. Both teams played well
and showed determination to keep competing against some very skilled
players from Gundagai, who finished as comfortable victors in both games.
Our boys and girls are congratulated for their sportsmanship on the day
and best wishes go to Gundagai Public for their next round of matches.
Franklin Kids Get Creative!
On Monday 6th
August the Children’s Art and Craft Show was officially opened by May Doon. Franklin captains and prefects
accompanied Mrs Bye to the studio for the opening, joining other school leaders and artists within our community.
Franklin students travelled to the Five Ways Art Studio on Wednesday 8th
August to view their own artwork being displayed, as
well as enjoy the showcase of arts and crafts from students across the Tumut region. The Five Ways Studio was open for parents
and community members to view the student artworks as celebrations continued during Education Week 2018.
