PG HOLIDAY HOMEWORK 2


Parents do make a difference!

The purpose of holiday homework is to reinforce learning and help

the students practise essential skills being taught at school. Parental

involvement can enhance a child’s learning.

Here are a few tips to make the holiday homework time more

successful:

Establish a routine and set a time for your child to do

homework.

Limit distractions, reduce unnecessary noise, turn off the TV and

avoid phone calls.

Read and discuss the instructions for each task with your child

and demonstrate what to do.

Make sure the material your child needs, such as lead pencil,

colour pencils are available.

Always give plenty of praise and encouragement.

Points to remember:

Only black lead pencil is to be used for tracing and written work.

Colour all the pictures and use only colour pencils. Markers and

crayons are not allowed.

Completion of holiday homework is compulsory.

The submission date for the holiday homework will be the third

day of school after summer vacation.

Holiday homework will not be accepted after the submission

date.

Ensure that your child can hear and say the sound of each letter being

reinforced. Letter sounds are an essential part of phonics. Explain this by

telling your child that a letter is a little like a cat! A cat has a name but it
