Our new year has officially begun! Our first board meeting of the New Year started off with the elections of Treasurer and Secretary. Jeff Oonk was re-elected as Treasurer. Jeff has done an

outstanding job for the club. The treasurer position is vital to the club’s day to day activities as well as long range capital planning. Jeff’s time and talent is very much appreciated. Steve

Neumeyer was elected as Secretary. In addition to taking minutes at the board meetings, the Secretary position is also an executive committee position. We appreciate Steve taking the time and taking tedious notes for our records whenever the board of directors meet. The next

item on the board agenda was welcoming our newest board members, Stuart Stromeyer and Lindsay Harrison-Eirich. We look forward to their valuable input in helping move the club for-

ward. We appreciate both of them willing to share their time with busy schedules. Finally, I’d like to thank Greg Weggeman and Dennis Prigge for their prior service to the club. Both of them have spent a tremendous amount of time volunteering their time not only serving on the

board, but on committees, projects, events and acting as ambassadors to the club. Thank You Both!

By now you’re familiar with my monthly newsletter and the fact that MEMBERSHIP is always in

the forefront. This time of year is crucial to continue to build membership. Every year we go through some attrition, for various reasons. Not only do we need to replace those members we’ve lost, but we need to increase the count to make sure we maintain positive growth. I am

reaching out to you once again to ask that you invite potential members to club activities. Take advantage of our “Free Ride“ program as an incentive to help our club grow. Ask Rosanne or

our membership chair Matt Bistan about the details. We had a very successful event on April 24th. This was our season kickoff titled BBQ, Blues &

Brew. Congratulations to everyone putting this together and our staff who did an outstanding job. This event attracted about 90 people and it proved to be a big hit. We had one couple sign

up for a golf membership right at the event, Paul and Sara Breitenbach were their sponsors. Thank you Paul & Sara! More to come with special events, music on the deck and other activi-ties. We all look forward to the months ahead.

Thank you all for supporting the club!

A Message from the President

A Message From the General Manager

Dear Members,

Welcome back! Welcome back to our returning snowbird members, welcome back to our members whom we do not often see in the winter and welcome back to our returning seasonal employees. We have many employees returning this May from last year:

Kirsten Kaat Libbie Pribek Elizabeth Zimmerman Morgan Zurmond Brooke Koepsell

Jonathan Block Patti Hansen Max Van Veghel

We are also pleased to announce that MacKenzie Hazen has graduated from Saint Norbert College and will be returning as Assistant Banquet Manager. Our “hostess with

the mostess” Rosanne continues to fill up our weekends with member and member sponsored weddings, reunions, fundraisers and parties. MacKenzie will be a part of the team that assists in the preparation and execution of the parties. We are certain you will be impressed with the energy, enthusiasm and intelligence that MacKenzie brings to her role at Pine Hills.

As we continue to grow, evolve and prepare for the season we have also added Colin Roche to our team as Assistant Food and Beverage Manager and promoted Brandon

Hurst to Food and Beverage Manager. Their primary responsibility will be to insure great service for our members and guests and to operate efficiently to generate a

surplus for the Club’s capital needs. Please join me in thanking Brandon for his extra efforts to fill in the gaps since Scott Kress’s departure. Colin comes to us from Milwaukee Country Club where he was Assistant Beverage Manager. Colin is a graduate of the Wisconsin Stout Hospitality Program. And I better say that you will be impressed with his energy, enthusiasm and intelligence to keep peace in the family. Beyond those points Colin does have some additional experience

at some very fine Clubs – Milwaukee Country Club and the Tuxedo Club in New York. Rumor has it that he is a single digit handicap and we just hired him to win club

We would like you to also welcome our newest members. Jeremy and Meredith Behler they joined the evening of our BBQ, Blues and Brew party. Where the music was hot, the beer was cold and the BBQ was smoking! Their sponsors are Paul and Sara Breitenbach and by sponsoring the Behlers they get a “Free Ride” on a golf cart for one month this summer. There is no limit to how many new members you can sponsor by July 31st. So take a “Free Ride”. We are

seeking just a few families and individuals to fill our golf membership. Also new to the club are Social members Jim and Barb Feiertag and Sport members David and Kathy Kist. Please join me in extending a warm welcome to all of our newest members. We are putting together a great team to take care of you this season. Speaking of seasons – found this quote that seems appropriate for spring for us living up north near the shores of Lake Michigan

“It was one of those … days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and win-ter in the shade.” ― Charles Dickens, Great Expectations See you at the Club, Paul
