Brief (in-house) Uponsuccessfulnegotiationoftheproposalandtheprojectbeingpassedtoproceedweholdabriefingsessionwithallmembersofstaffwhowillbeinvolvedontheproject.Theofficialbriefsheetiscompletedbytheprojectleaderandthisisdiscussedwiththestudioteamandtimeisallocatedinlinewiththequotationandthedeadlinecoupledwiththeavailabletimeinthestudio.

Creative stage 1 Designerscreatenumeroussolutionswhichmayanswerallorpartofthebrief,theseareavarietyofcomputerfilesandhanddrawnsketchesofideas.Thesearediscussedopenlyandarewhittleddowntoafewoptionswhichworkforallareasofthebrief.Theseoptionsarethenworkeduptoapresentationstandardwhichhasbeenagreedwiththeclient:thesevaryfrommarkerscampideasheetsthroughtocomputergeneratedimage/mockups.Thesearethenpresentedtotheclientanddiscussedindetail.

Digital artwork Allworkfromdesignstageshastobeturnedintodigitalartwork,systemsareinplacetocreateallmannerofartworkfromsimpleformstocomplexmulti-leafproductions.Themainsystemsoftwareapplicationsemployedare:QuarkXpress,PhotoShop,FreeHand,Illustrator,FlashandAcrobatDistiller.

Proof reading Priortothefinalartworkbeingpresentedtotheclientforfinalapprovalwerun2separatecomputerspellcheckersthroughadocumentandthentheworkisactuallyreadbyPHdforthatfinalhumantest.

Digitalfileproofs Throughoutthelifeofaprojecttherewillhavebeenmultipleproofs/printoutscreatedforthework,thesearenormallygiventotheclientandPHdretainsphotocopiesofsame.

Signoffproofs Thesearecolourproofscreatedin-houseofthefinalwork.Thepurposeoftheseproofsarefortheclienttohaveafinalcheckoftheworkpriortosendingforproduction.Theseneedtobesignedbeforeproductiontakesplace.

Cromalin/colourmatchedproofs Theseareoptional(butadvisedproofs)whichshouldaccompanyallfullcolourprojects.Itisthesafestwayofgaugingcoloursthatwillactuallybeproduced,inshortitisapantonecalibratedproofingsystem.

Print management Printinganddealingwithprintersisoftenmorecomplicatedthanisenvisagedonthesurface.PHdactsasthe‘client’forthepurposesoftheprocurementofprint.Ourknowledgeandexperienceenablesustobuyatmorecompetitiveratesthanclientsoftencan,aswehavearelationshipbuiltupwithchosensuppliersonwhowecantrust.ThisareaprovidestheclientwiththefinalstagesoftheproductionintheknowledgethatPHdtakestheresponsibilityforthefinaldeliveredwork.

MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS (Recipe Time: 2 minutes)

STEP 1:

Remove all contents from bowl. Place contents of noodle and vegetable packets into bowl. Add 2 tbsp of water and pour sauce

over noodles, cover loosely with lid.

STEP 2:

Microwave on high power for 2 minutes.

STEP 3:

Stir noodles until they are evenly coated with sauce. Add toasted sesame seed topping. Enjoy!
