The event

Pharmac India 2013 was held in Hyderabad from 5th

to 7th

September 2013.

The three day SME-centric event, was jointly organized by Orbitz Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd. in association with

Indian Drug Manufacturers Association-Gujarat State Board (IDMA-GSB). It was also supported by

Pharmexcil, BDMA and CiPi.

‘PharmacIndia’ was a national level unique networking and business event for the entire Pharmaceutical

Industry. The exhibition served as a platform for B2B meetings with potential customers, provides

information about the latest industry trends.This national level exhibition also gave an information to

the industrialists about the constantly changing global market.

The exhibition helped in boostinginteraction between the pharmaceutical manufacturers of the state

and the players of supportive industries like machinery and equipment, raw material, packaging material

etc.

The exhibition focused creating a wider platform for SME players to interact, network with the medium

and large pharmaceutical industry players from India & abroad.

Mr. RupenVikamsey, MD, Orbitz Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd., addressed the audience that the event the the

event was witnessing heavy number of footfalls from people from various fields like pharmaceutical

manufacturers, equipment manufacturers, packaging industry people, academia and media. He

indicated that success of the event this year shall be a motivation to organize Pharmac India in 2014 on

a larger scale. He pointed out the fact that Hyderabad being the bulk drug capital of India, has played an

instrumental role in bringing together manufacturers and buyers on a common platform and thereby

contributed substantially to the growth of the industry. Mr. Vikamsey told the audience that the main

aim of the event was to attract more customers and share the latest technologies, innovations from the

pharma field.”

Inaugural session was followed by a press conference which was well attended by the leading press and

TV reporters who gave an excellent coverage in both local and national media.

Exhibition

Visitor Profile:

Around 3000 Visitorsattended the exhibition. The visitors included purchase heads from various

companies and high level decision makers like Chairmen, Managing Directors, Vice Presidents and

CEO(s)of different companies visited the event. Besides these, 20% of the constituted of Senior Sales or

Marketing Managers. Pharma consultants consisted 12% of the total visitors while students were 4%.

Pharmac India 2013 proved that it remains an indispensable platform for the exchange of business in

the pharmaceutical world. The momentum gathered by Pharmac India since inception, has ensured a

consistent growth rate of around 25% and now the organizers have resolved to augment this with each

subsequent hosting and make Pharmac India transcend India’s territorial limits.

Pharmac India 2014 is planned to be held at MahatamaMandir, Gandhinagar from 11th

to 13th

September 2014.

Way Forward:

• There is a need to have more such networking events, where large and small scale industries can

come together for latest technology sharing & business networking.
