Create your own festival of lights with votive candle covers for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Hanukkah.
stepbystep[1] On a comfortable length of Fireline or thread, pick up the 124 beads below the black line in patterns A, B, or C. (Note: The patterns are turned sideways to fit these pages.) Wrap the beads around the 21⁄2 x 2-in. (6.4 x 5 cm) votive candle holder, and tie them into a ring with a square knot (How-Tos), leaving a 6-in. (15 cm) tail. Sew through the first bead again. These beads will shift to form the first two rounds of beadwork as the next round is worked.[2] Work your chosen pattern in even-count tubular peyote stitch (How-Tos) using 110 Delica cylinder beads. At the end of each round, step up through the first bead added in that round to get into position to start the next round. In tubular peyote, this step-up means that the first bead of each new round will shift over one bead from the first bead in the previous round, following a diagonal trajectory. The first bead in each round is indicated by a dot on the patterns. End and add thread (How-Tos) as needed while you stitch, and end the working thread and tail when you complete the pattern. w
