“While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is

• Andrew and John were the disciples of John the Baptist.

• Andrew, John and Peter spent several days with Christ.

• Now they went back to fishing, waiting for the greater call of Christ.

• Peter now saw two miracles of Jesus and His power of nature.

• “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.”

(Luke 5.10, ESV)

Peter: The Outspoken One

• Walked on Water (Matthew 14:28-33)

– Remember Peter got out of the boat.

• Rebuked by Christ (Matthew 16.21-23)

– At least Peter answered.

• Peter became the leader of the disciples. (Acts 1.15-26)

• Left his business and family to follow Christ. (Matthew 4.21,22)

• Sent to prepare for the Passover. (Luke 22.8-13)

• Took care of Mary (John 19.26-27)
