CELEBRATING LIFE WITH SEUN OKE

Seun (pronounced Shay oon) Oke, from a village in

south central Nigeria, is pictured above in one of

the original PETs from the U.S. Felled by polio when

she was 4 and later diagnosed with scoliosis, she knows what it is to

immobilized. Around the age of

18, Seun traveled to the U.S. for surgery.

It was then her doctor read an article

about PETs and arranged for Suen to have one! Friends in

Nigeria gather to celebrate with Suen.

Seun's PET transformed her life,

moving her from being home-bound and having to crawl,

to pursuing her education, getting a job, and moving to her own apartment.

Seun on her way to work, accompanied by dear friend,

Mrs Ugah.

Seun's family has given her much support as she

pursues her dreams for more education. Through her pastor-

father, Suen has come to have an

abiding faith.

PET INTERNATIONALHOSTS SEUN OKE

Thanks to PET INt'l who hosted Seun, we were blessed by a wonderful visit from a very spirited, dynamic and determined PET recipient! She ably handled speaking engagements with the retirement community, the Orange Park Rotary Club and two TV stations. Seun was hosted in various Penney Farms homes and even had time to visit St. Augustine, FL. and enjoy the beach. The pictures below show her painting and assembling at PET, shopping at Resale, and visiting the weaving room and the coffee shop, giving you a hint of just how untiring and vivacious this 27-year-old-lady is!
