SPEAKERS
Hew Ee Lu
Ee Lu is the Director of Insurance and Takaful Supervision Department in Bank Negara Malaysia. With
over 17 years of technical and supervisory experience, Ee Lu has served in various roles to support the
regulation of insurance industry in Malaysia. He has been actively involved in the development of
capital adequacy frameworks for insurers, risk based supervision framework and implementation of
various reforms in the motor insurance market. Ee Lu obtained a BSc in Actuarial Science from the London
School of Economics and an MSc in Actuarial Management from Cass Business School. He is a Fellow of
the UK Institute of Actuaries.
Winnie Chua Winnie is the Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer/Chief People Officer of PolicyStreet. Her 7 years of insurance industry
experience encompasses actuarial roles in data mining, predictive modelling, product development to business roles in
financial analytics, impact assessment and stakeholders’ management. She was also part of General Insurance Association of
Malaysia (PIAM) Young Managers Think Tank committee, focused on identifying talent management issues plaguing the
often-misunderstood industry, and initiatives to nurture next generation of insurance professionals.
Recently, she was named Forbes Asia 30 under 30, under Finance and Venture Capital category. She is currently a member
of Industry Advisory Council for PayNet, Malaysia's premier payments network and central infrastructure for financial markets.
She holds the Bachelors of Actuarial Studies from the Australian National University, Canberra.

Kelvin Hii
Kelvin Hii is the Vice President - Actuarial of MSIG Insurance (Malaysia) Bhd.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia and a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of Malaysia.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Actuarial Studies) from the University of Melbourne.
Adam Flowers
Adam has extensive expertise in specialised accounting products which solve regulatory requirements for
large complex organisations including IFRS 15, IFRS 16 and IFRS 17. At Aptitude Software, he provides the
capabilities and deep functional expertise to support his clients in achieving compliance on-time whilst
ensuring minimal disruption to existing processes and systems.

Yuen Leng Chin
Yuen is the Appointed Actuary for Zurich Insurance & Takaful in Malaysia. She has been involved in the
detariffication journey over the past few years, from developing actual pricing models to being on a steering
committee which oversees detariffication strategies for a business. Her experience spans across valuation,
capital modelling, reinsurance optimisation and profitability analysis, mergers and acquisitions. She is
currently the professional development council member of the Actuarial Society of Malaysia.
Cheow Tjern Yipp
TJ is the Head of Motor Department in Tokio Marine Insurans (Malaysia) Berhad. Prior to this, he was
Executive Assistant to the CEO, involved in strategic planning and various transformation projects. He has
also served in Actuarial and Risk Management functions in the organization. Before joining Tokio Marine, TJ
spent 3.5 years in an actuarial consultancy.

Joshua Koh
Joshua is the Motor Pricing Manager of AXA Affin General Insurance Berhad. He has 6 years of experience
in the general insurance industry and has experience in product pricing, insurance liability valuation, stress
testing and reinsurance optimization. Joshua is also a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
Jason Lim
Jason Lim is the Motor Pricing Manager of Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad,
responsible for building and implementing risk-based motor pricing in the phased liberalisation of the motor
insurance in Malaysia. His prior experience includes insurance liability valuation and capital modeling.

Mike Kelsall Mike currently holds the position of SVP, Product Strategy at AmGeneral Insurance Malaysia – he was appointed to this
position in April 2017. The role involves the development and delivery of new & enhanced products, as well as developing
strategies and managing through market implications in the Liberalised environment.
Before moving to Malaysia, Mike spent the previous 8 years in senior roles in Asia, with responsibilities mainly across
underwriting, risk selection, product pricing and content and capability development. These roles have been based in
Singapore, China and India, with a range of IAG group companies.
Prior to taking up roles in Asia, Mike held senior positions within the IAG group in Australia, including the role of National
Underwriting Manager. Mike has over 37 years’ experience in the general insurance industry.
Pang Chye
Pang is a principal and actuary with Milliman, based in Hong Kong. He joined the firm in 2002, after
spending more than two and a half years with Milliman in New York and six years with an actuarial and
management consultancy in Southeast Asia.
Pang specialises in property and casualty insurance and healthcare. He has consulted to more than 100
property and casualty insurance and reinsurance companies in Greater China and Southeast Asia, as well
as governments, insurance companies, health plans, hospitals, physician groups, and pharmaceutical
companies in Asia, the US and South Africa.

Nurul Syuhada Nurazmi Syuhada joined Actuarial Partners since May 2004 after completing her BA in Actuarial Science and Risk Management &
Insurance at University of Wisconsin, Madison (USA). She is among the first in Malaysia to qualify as a Fellow of Casualty
Actuarial Society.
She has performed reserving work under the RBC Framework for general insurers and takaful operators in Malaysia, Brunei,
Mauritius and Bahrain. Her experience in appraisal valuation ranges from due diligence of the general insurers and takaful
operators to determining the potential value of a bancassurance general operations of a Malaysian insurer. On risk
management, Syuhada has been involved in setting up as well as reviewing the ICAAP for insurance and takaful companies
in Malaysia. Syuhada is also involved in the pricing and certification of Medical and Health insurance and takaful products in
Malaysia.
She is currently the Appointed Actuary for several general insurers and takaful operators in Malaysia and Brunei.
Nicholas Yeo
Nicholas is the founder & actuary of Nicholas Actuarial Solutions, a technology focused actuarial firm, with
propositions in artificial intelligence, insurtech and analytics. In June 2017, Nicholas Actuarial Solutions has
received official recognition from the Government of Malaysia for its pioneering activities in these fields and
its overall contribution towards the development of Malaysia's digital economy.
Nicholas qualified as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in 2008. He is also a Fellow of the
Actuarial Society of Malaysia, Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and Fellow of the Singapore Actuarial
Society. He is a council member of the SOA's entrepreneurial and innovation section.

Aaron Morris
Aaron Morris is the Head of Business Intelligence of ISM Insurance Services Malaysia Berhad. He joined
the company in 2013, prior to that he was attached to AIG Shared Services.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire, and has
almost 8 years of experience in the insurance industry.
Zhi Kai Chong
Zhi Kai is an Analyst at NMG Consulting since 2016. Since joining NMG, he has been involved in various
statutory and advisory projects for (re)insurance companies in the region. Zhi Kai’s experience includes
statutory IBNR reserve valuations for general (re)insurance operators across South East Asia, statutory
valuation for retirement benefit schemes, insurance product segmentation analysis and pricing model
development, and captive feasibility study including retention modelling and business optimisation. Zhi Kai
graduated from Sunway University with a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Studies.

Vandana Toshniwal
Vandana is a Consultant with NMG Consulting, based in Kuala Lumpur since June 2016. Prior to joining
NMG, she was with a multinational consulting firm, specialising in Life insurance and Employee Benefits.
Since joining NMG, she has been involved in IBNR reserve and retirement benefit valuations along with
building Business Planning and Stress testing models for General Insurance companies in Asia. Vandana
also manages Indian market insights, for the ‘NMG Life & Health reinsurance programme’.
Valerie Gilles-Coeur Valerie Gilles-Coeur leads the Singapore Business Development team in Swiss Re. Based in Singapore, she is responsible
for helping clients use reinsurance to improve their technical efficiency and financial soundness.
Valerie has extensive experience in the Property and Casualty (P&C) direct and reinsurance business. Prior to joining
Swiss Re, she was a regional actuary with ERGO Asia, where she supported subsidiaries on motor pricing, claims
reserving and capital modelling. Before that, she was with AXA for 15 years. There she headed the process for assessing
the value of its P&C business, approving new products, and headed the Research & Development team to build up
components of the internal capital model at AXA.
Valerie is a qualified actuary and holds a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD.

Li Qin Yeoh
Li Qin joined the Business Development team in Swiss Re last year, where she supports business
origination activities by developing reinsurance solution ideas that fit within the client's financial and capital
strategy.
Prior to this, she was with the actuarial team in XL Catlin; providing pricing and analytical support to
underwriters, in addition to having worked on group reserving and local statutory actuarial requirements.
Lucas Ooi Lucas graduated from University of Bath, United Kingdom in 2008 with a Bachelor Of Science (Hons) in Business
Administration. After several internships with financial companies, he joined RBS as a graduate and then subsequently moved
to Societe Generale, working in the loan and credit markets. He then moved back to Malaysian and ventured into financial
technology industry where he co-founded SaveMoney.my in 2012, a financial education website aiming to improve the
financial literacy of Malaysians. In 2014, SaveMoney.my merged with RinggitPlus.com, an online financial comparison website
to form South East Asia’s first full stack fintech company, Jirnexu. Lucas currently looks at the development of the Insurance
Business for Jirnexu. Today, Jirnexu owns and operates 2 online financial aggregators (OFA) in South East Asia, RinggitPlus
in Malaysia and KreditGoGo in Indonesia. Combined, the websites attract more than 2 million visits a month and has over 100
employees. Jirnexu has raised venture capital funding from the likes of SBI Group, SIG Asia Investments, Cento Ventures,
NTT Docomo & OSK Ventures.

Liyana Ang
Liyana Ang has more than 24 years of work experience, about 20 years of which have been focused on the
insurance industry. Currently, Liyana is the Chief Risk Officer of Berjaya Sompo Insurance Berhad. Prior to
joining Sompo, she was the CRO of Chubb Insurance in Malaysia. She was also the Head of Operational
Risk in Etiqa Insurance and Takaful. Liyana’s expertise are in enterprise risk management, change
management, process improvement and internal audit & risk mitigation. She is also member of IERP and
The Institute of Operational Risk.
Tan Wee Keat, Kenny
Kenny is the Appointed Actuary of AmGeneral Insurance Berhad. He has over 13 years of experience in the
general insurance industry across actuarial, claims, and risk management functions. Prior to joining
AmGeneral, Kenny has held several number of actuarial and operations leadership roles in the United
States. Kenny also has hands-on experience in a liberalised insurance market which will be an added
advantage as AmGeneral navigates through the phased liberalisation of the motor and fire insurance sector.
Kenny graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science and Mathematics from the University of
Iowa and an MBA from Capital University in the United States. Kenny is also a Fellow of the Casualty
Actuarial Society and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.

Fabian Fidelis Fabian Fidelis is the CEO and Principal Trainer of ProActive Training and the Author of the Worldwide Distributed Book
entitled “The Tao of Talking: The Speakers Tenets towards Charisma”. He is a Master Trainer with many years of experience
as a Senior Manager in the hospitality industry specializing in management and customer service. He has conducted trainings
for numerous multinationals, local companies as well as government departments in his many years in the training arena.
Fabian holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Ecole Superieure de Gestion, Paris. He is also a Certified
Practitioner of Neuro-Semantics from the International Society of Neuro-Semantics, USA (ISNS), Certified Practitioner of NLP
by the National Federation of Neurolinguistic Programming, USA (NFNLP) and a Certified MBTI® Administrator. Fabian has
been appointed as Master Trainer to certify Professional and Organizational Trainers delivering the MiniWorkshopSeries®.
Nanthini Kandasamy
Nanthini is the Chief Risk Officer of AXA Malaysia. She has 13 years’ experience in General Insurance and
Actuarial field. Nanthini was responsible in setting up a dedicated risk management function for AXA Affin
General Insurance Berhad that covers P&C Risk, Financial Risk, Enterprise Risk Management in addition to
Operational Risk. Prior to this, she was heading the Actuarial Department in the company overseeing
among others valuation, pricing, GLM based modelling, Motor de-tariffication project, portfolio monitoring
and business analytics.
